Its been raining here the last hour and abour 10'c cooler now than this time yesterday which should keep it to a bit more of a level playing field.
2-2 from the first leg, it could go anyway

Good to see him enjoying himself Another massive loss to our club, still not replaced him adequately despite the MVG debacle and £18million on Imbula, how much did we sell him for ?

From the moment I saw they had reached the final I knew it would end up being all about Stoke on here. Ferfuxache, even bearing in mind it's a Stoke based mb does it all have to relate back to Stoke?

The Zonz was an absolutely magnificent for us.
I'd love it if he shot down Liverpool in the final.

We sold him for what we could get after he ran his fucking contract down. He was still under contract for another 12 months Yes. That was reflected in the price we got. If a player is in the last year of his contract his value is diminished as a club can sign him for nothing in 12 months time. This happened with Begovic and looks set to happen with Arnie. If players do this then they have the club over a barrel and we have to sell for what we can get or face getting nothing. Dread to think of your reaction if we started giving our better players away.

We sold him for what we could get after he ran his fucking contract down. He was still under contract for another 12 months So he wanted to go and you think we should have made him see out his last 12 months, What kind of productivity do you think we would have got from Le Sulk in those months and then he fucks off for nothing? Great plan H

Said at the time and regularly since
We sold him way too early in the window and way too cheaply we sold a ueafa cup finalist and a premiership winner for less than £10 million the pair in less than six months and spent £21milliom replacing them to go backwards
So it happens but let's not give oxygen to the myth we are a very savvy commercial organisation defying the market by buying at the Bottom selling at the top and moving to the next level .

Have you come up with any examples yet of players in the last year of their contract who got more valuable the closer to deadline day it got? You keep peddling that but go uncharacteristically quiet when pushed on it. Any time you're ready.

First offer for Berbatov when he moved to Man Utd was half what he want for on deadline day .
Gareth Bale price moved £15 million between first offer and last deal
Crouch and Palacios deal moved considerably.
No need to wait any longer

Honest answer im not privileged to their contract detail but
1 who let the contract Run to this point
2 we Could have offered him the money we gave to shaq and waited With an undertaking to sell at £15m did he really want to play a season with no contractual protection very few do they sign and then move
My point always has been and always will be it was very naively handled situation in terms of value for Stoke City and his and Huths success has only underscored this .
However if you Believe we got market price fine and I look forward to seeing £10 million securing players of this calibre this summer . Our current perception of value is that shaq is worth more than Nzonzi and Huth together very sobering .

He let the contract run to this point. You can't force someone to sign a new contract.
It wasn't about money as much as wanting to move to a bigger club. He wasn't going to sign a new contract.
