Quite simple for me- if someone matches £12 m or over I'd get rid. Not a winger in a million years And for the money replace him with? Andros Townsend?

Keep him, give him another season and get him some boots with studs in because yesterday it looked like he was playing in plimsoles ! the man couldn't move without slipping . There is a cracking player in there, we all know it ! Let's see when he's settled a bit longer.

The same Shaqiri that won us the game against Newcastle, scored one of the goals of the season against Everton, single-handedly dismantled Man City and Baba Rahman of Chelsea and was one of the catalysts in our only real run of good form during the whole season?
Yeah, fuck him off.
Christ almighty.

And for the money replace him with? Andros Townsend? He's played about 15 games in the best part of 2 years the majority for a team fighting for survival and he's now better than Shaqiri? Go back to playing FIFA mate

I think he's been decent this season. Its naturally gonna take time to settle in, I think he had a good game on Saturday. He's confident on the ball and gives us someone who can beat players. Definitely hold onto him.

Absolutely ZERO knowledge about football. He takes his man on when he can. He also has the ability to pick a pass, he offers so much more than an out and out wide man....but you would just like him to run fast. Wow, literally wow. Take it you were the waterboy at school.

He's been piss-poor considering the eye watering £12m we paid for him, but there is no selling him, his valuation will have fallen and the board won't just take the loss squarely on the chin, we just have to stay the course and make it work at some level some how.

Eye watering 12 million? It's not 1996. That's a pretty good price for a full international, in his 20s whose got some pretty decent winners medals to his name. Piss-poor? 6 games ago we had a shot at a European spot. He was integral in us having that shot. He's been unlucky with injuries. You literally do not know you were born. How about we fuck everyone off, get relegated and resign Gerry McMahon just so everyone can be happy again.

Well you can poo-poo £12m all you like but prior to Imbula he was the most expensive acquisition in our long history so my hopes were kind of high. Anyway read my post again, I am saying keep him, we have to make it work, its over to Shaq and the coaching team and the medical team to sort this situation out.

Totally agree with you mate, 12 Million isnt much in modern football and we got a good deal with Shaqiri. A great winger who scored a hat trick in the world cup, he was integral in our bid for europe this season.

£12m is £4m more than Wilson Palacios and Kenwyne Jones, a third of Eliaquim Mangala and only six times more expensive than Michael Tonge.

27 Feb - Shaqiri set up both goals. 2 March - scored the only goal v Newcastle 5 March - his cross set up Diouf for the Stoke goal So responsible for 7 points in 1 week. Keep or let go - not worth discussing. Good points Dave. Your memory is better than mine and those were the only three matches I saw live. He needs three things sorted next season to go from "good to great". - Get to the bye line and cross the damn ball into the box more often. Right now he's one dimensional because he almost always cuts inside
- Track back more
- Get some bloody decent boots. He spent more time yesterday on his arse than standing up.
- Switch wings more often
That's four, well never mind.

That's it lads compare his fee to all our worst signings and take comfort from that. It's nothing to do with that. The point is, £12m might have been our record outlay, but it isn't a huge fee in the current market for a player with a big reputation. He hasn't had a brilliant season but I can't believe for a second that the injury problems he's had since before we signed him haven't played a part in that. Whether that is rectified over the summer remains to be seen, but he's signed a long contract and he'll be given time to get properly fit and used to the pace and physicality of the league.

That's it lads compare his fee to all our worst signings and take comfort from that. I'm with you on this one Gods. I think we might see a completely different Shaqiri next season. But for the fee and the wages we're paying him, I don't think anyone's knowledge of football should be questioned for criticising his contribution so far.

Has more assists than Arnie. Scored three. Blighted by niggly injuries. Yep pretty crap contribution.

Some pretty embarassing arguments in favour of getting rid.
Sure, let's fuck off him off and leave Jon on the wing..
He needs time and a proper chance.
