Promoted to the Championship for the first time, they will have some decent away crowds next season, Villa, Brum, Forest, Wolves, Leeds, Cardiff, maybe Derby,

Burton are 6 points in front of Walsall (who have two games left ) but Walsall have a game away at relegated Doncaster next week and also a six goal advantage . The daft thing is s the start of the season if you had said Doncaster v burton would see one going up and one going down I bet not many would have guessed burton would be the team going up .

Burtons goal diff is better than Walsall, being plus 20
Walsall are on plus 15
Think Burton are as good as there
A derby against Villa on a level playing field - amazing for them!

Their ground really is tiny, will they have to make any improvements to play in the Championship?

Their ground really is tiny, will they have to make any improvements to play in the Championship? Only to be all seated by their 4th season in it, and maybe floodlight improvements. Plus they will need a safety certificate. www.football-league.co.uk/global/appendix1.aspx

Correct me if in wrong but should they make promotion they'll become the second best club in Staffordshire after us...won't they? They already are. Using the old County borders then Vale are the 6th (out of 6) best team.

Used to go and watch them play at Eton Park in the Gola League in the late 70's and early 80's.Neil Warnock was the manager at the time, really top bloke at the time.Very pleased to see them climbing the league ladder, great club and very well run. Burton as a area and town is very vibrant and a lovely place to visit, grew up in the Winshill area and went to school until 14 there until the family moved this way to Cheddleton.Have a lot of time and respect for the place. Good luck The Brewers.

A derby v Derby is their biggest dream Seen so many pre-season friendlies and testimonal games between them at Burton's old ground,Eton Park and never would have thought it possible they would play each other in a football league game. Recall Burton drawing Leicester in the FA Cup at Eton Park and the tie getting moved to Derby County,Leicester won 6-1 but due to crowd trouble between Leicester and Derby fans the game got replayed. It was replayed at Coventry behind closed doors and this time Leicester won 1-0.

Wasn't it replayed because the Leicester fans were chucking loads of coins at the Burton keeper? I think he was struck by one and it was said his judgement had been impaired. I think also, Gary Lineker had scored a hat trick in the first game that was subsequently void.
