Watched it on Netflix last week really enjoyed it. That's what puts me off pc gaming now too much faffing about just too run a game and I smashed hours in steel panthers especially I think no2 when it was the modern conflicts such as the falklands and gulf war 1
[/p]
Sorry I've made a right mess of this!
My brother-in-law plays a in internet tank simulation on his console and a big TV. I can't remember if it's World of Tanks??. There are several though - War Thunder etc. I think he said it was the one by the Russian team who did IL Sturmovik. Whatever it is, it looks a bit arcadey to me, but he reckons it has more realistic modes as well. It might be of interest...
Yeah never got into kessel. I moved onto tom Clancy and jack Higgins which after a few books jack Higgins are all the same. Love Clancy books though think the weaving arching storylines going from red October through to bear and the dragon are superbly crafted although a little bit too America fuck yeah at times extremely reread able. With the exception of the disc World Series by terry pratchett I must have read Sven and toms catalogue more than anything else and I usually get through 2to3 books a month dependant upon my shifts

Easier start another post. The first Tank sim I had on the PC was "Team Yankee". That was based on a book. Was it one of Clancys? I can't remember now. I played that and "Silent Service" for hours.

For any Band of Brothers fans... Easy Company positions in the Bois Jacques, outside Bastogne: View from the woods towards the village of Foy. This is the open field over which Easy Company attacked the village in January 1945, and where Lieutenant Dyke hid behind the haystack. The upstairs window in Foy where Shifty Powers took out the German sniper. Damage from small-arms still evident.

Brilliant photos mate - KT with a Porsche turret - gorgeous......and the Panther - my 2 favourites of WW2 - only the T34 could hold a candle to them - or maybe if a bunch of Sherman's ganged up on one 😄
Oatcake trip to Bovington instead of tedium and heartbreak at Bournemouth anyone??!

Apologies if I am way off the mark, but is that the Peiper who was responsible for the Malmedy massacre? Yeah, that's him, although there's a degree of uncertainty over whether he gave the order to open fire. He wasn't present at the time of the massacre and his death sentence was eventually commuted after it was revealed that several German prisoners had had confessions beaten out of them. La Gleize is the farthest point of Peiper's advance. He ended up walking back to Germany. I've just realised that I haven't uploaded the photos of the massacre site yet. I'll probably do it tomorrow.

Cheers. I've just repaired one of the links to the Bois Jacques pics - you can view it again now. It's a pity we didn't have time to visit the museum at Bastogne Barracks; there's an amazing selection of hardware in there, including a Panzer IV, a StuG III and a Scammell Pioneer, one of my favourite WWII softskins. Ah well, there's always next time...
