Don't know whether you're familiar with the Viva Roxy Music Live album. My favourite live album and a regular listen. It's got a fantastic version of In every dream home. Every track is an absolute winner. A band at the very top of the tree. It's hands down, my favourite Roxy album!

They finished in the top 30 with Pub feed I'm pretty sure that this video was recorded by our very own LL Cool Dave. Funnily enough they just announced their biggest UK tour so far, yesterday. www.ticketmaster.co.uk/the-chats-tickets/artist/5272826

Changing the subject ever so slightly I absolutely love the new Lana Del Rey album thanks for the recommendation. I've also acquired the other two you recommended but haven't had a proper opportunity to have an in depth listen yet. There's not a bad track on Norman Rockwell but Venice Bitch from three minutes on is pure dreamland, fabulous music and the cymbals absolutely hit the right spot

There's not a bad track on Norman Rockwell but Venice Bitch from three minutes on is pure dreamland, fabulous music and the cymbals absolutely hit the right spot I actually think it's the best album released so far this century ... there I've said it! I personally certainly haven't listened to one more times that's for sure. I'm going to see her next month in Manchester and in Barcelona in June, really looking forward to it. The only worry being, that she elected to only do four (or five if you were lucky) tracks off Norman Rockwell on the US leg of the tour. Which is a crying shame, as it means some of the greatest songs ever (imho) recorded might never get to be played live. There's no doubt that by the time she next tours, she'll have a new album out. She did finish every set with the incredible Venice Bitch however! I've probably listened to Happiness is a Butterfly a hundred times now and it still gets me in exactly the same way it did the first time I heard it. Would have held its own on Tapestry imo ...

Can't find the (amazing) live version of Both Ends Burning (miles better than the Siren version) on it's own but no bother ... It's like being repeatedly punched in the face ... they don't even stop to come up for air, until the very end!

Carole Kingβs Tapestry? Thatβs one of my favourite and greatest albums ever. Donβt tend to enjoy listening to many female soloists but king, along with Tracy chapman, Joni Mitchell and Linda Rondstat are my favourites. A great version

I'm suggesting that Norman Rockwell should be considered in the same breath as Tapestry/Blue/Chapman's eponymous ... it's a bona fide all time classic record and actually, is so, regardless of gender, it's just brilliant. Tapestry is an wonderful record, I was gutted that I missed her Hyde Park concert, we were already committed to a long-haul holiday before it was announced, I've never seen her and would really love to. Goosebumps upon goosebumps ...

Both ends burning was accompanied by Roxy dancers, this tour they were still cool as ever I also got to hear A song for Europe, In every dreamhome and Mother of pearl which I absolutely wasn't expecting.

We've got tickets for Hyde Park and the two Amsterdam shows at the end of the tour. The missus absolutely loves this but I'm struggling to get my head round it. I kind of feel that I need to hear it in the context of the entire album, if I'm going to get it. Eddie's vocal delivery has got a bit of a David Byrne thing going on, in fact the whole thing has got a bit of a Talking Heads vibe about it.

I'm likely, just going through the total denial stage at the moment! π Filmed on my phone at their last UK show 18 months ago ...

Great singer, saw her twice. The one time at Knebworth 1980. The Beach Boys were the headliners.

Got tickets for her Palladium show in London a week tomorrow ... centre stage, six rows from the front (stoopid money - don't ask! ) but last night she cancelled, that's now the EIGHTH show she's cancelled on the tour so far, she pulled out of a show in Portugal last week, with 45 minutes notice - the tour was always going to be too long for her and now the people at the back end of it are starting to pay for it. Thinking maybe 50/50 at best that it will actually happen ... fingers crossed.

Love the first choice from probably her best album, wasn't it after she'd had the voice training around the time of Evita?
