The best live album of all time.

The best live album of all time. Easy to forget just what a great tune that is from a great band. I don't know whether you caught Jim Kerr and Charlie Birchill talking on BBC4? about longevity in the music business. The quote from Jim Kerr was "It's just like a marriage although I'm not sleeping with him and I won't lose half the house"
As far as live albums go for me this is the benchmark.
A band absolutely at the top of it's game.

Everyone said this was a phase when I was at college but 15 years later I still buzz off it.
It's pretty heavy and out not for everyone*

Love the first track never heard it with instruments - heard it first on the Borat OST. Unironically one of my favourite film scores (Alongside Napolean dynamite and just about any wes anderson)

Love the first track never heard it with instruments - heard it first on the Borat OST. Unironically one of my favourite film scores (Alongside Napolean dynamite and just about any wes anderson) It was the Cocteau Twins label 4AD that first introduced Mysterie Voix Bulgares to me. Ethereal. {The 'Ederlazi' features members of them.} Hadn't heard it for ages, but listened to the LP earlier, {and some Harold Budd}, and a bit of Gregorian Chant. Chilled. {Not seen Borat}. I love a bit of 'world' music. Klezma, Cajun, Slav, Brazilian owt. Always trying to find new and diverse sounds. Tinariwen are up there with me faves. Shame really that as far as I've dug we don't have much of our own ancient indigenous muzak much beyond Cecil Sharpe and 'Greensleeves'. Dunno. Edit: changed the last track, it was a crap version.{imo}
