Had UFO “ Strangers In The Night” on way home from work today, not quite the best live album ever but definitely up there . Schenker on blinding form as indeed the whole band

I'm not claiming that no, maybe he didn't like the way Market 'Drayton' scanned. It fits the story of Clive... In and out of India, start of Indian Empire. Thought it could have been Rudyard K. {apparently conceived in Endon, named after the Lake etc}, and wondered if it referred to a Pottery Magnate's lad... but couldn't be arsed to scan family trees for Mortimers. I think Clive is top candidate mesen. Maybe given the likely time it was written he used 'Stoke-on-Trent' in a Newman & Baddiel way, to emphasise the 'tea bag' campness... Incidentally some kind of anniversary {25 years!} for 'Crooked Rain'. Bloody hell Cheesy, are you still up? Daylight not affecting your constitution
Never thought of Clive because I'd always associated him with Shropshire in my mind and just assumed someone would have some knowledge of the "Mortimer" family.
Nearer to your neck of the woods I had a nice chat with an old lad from the Brook yesterday over at Tittesworth. Never knew there was a tennis club up the road in Endon, you learn something new every day, as they say. He likes Ego, recommended the Golf club for decent food and said The Sportsman was a proper boozers pub
Sleeep is for the week. Be surprised if I didn't Know yer SB 'old' boy. Was he with dog?

No dog, mid 70s looking very healthy on it, big cyclist used the cut quite a bit and plays tennis up the road at Endon 3 or 4 times a week. Lives on a hill but not one covered in Heather and has a couple of months abroad over the winter. He's only been in the Sportsman once or twice

[quote author=" bigjohnritchie" source="/post/6353361/thread" [/quote] I can generally take or leave Dylan, but in your few selections there I think you've just about covered the pick of the crop there for me.

I'm shimmying a bit to these.. and such...
