Hey BJR I'd like to dip into your font of Elvis knowledge. I posted 'Blue Christmas' above. Apparently a mock up, a clip from a 68 Elvis concert/tv show with McBride 'blue screened' and edited in. Question is, do you know what/where the Elvis clip comes from. I'm pretty sure I've seen that show on TV. Elvis in black leathers acoustic guitar, pretty sure he does a brilliant 'Grass Don't pay no mind' on it. Found plenty of versions of it on the web, but never been able to track that particular version down. Thanks if you can help. The black leather show was the " 68 Come back special" ...basically he had not toured for 9 years( because of the "Movies") and wanted to see if he he could still do it...he was always nervous before any show....didnt take the audience for granted ...to be honest I'd only seen the clip that you posted once before and I did not particularly like McBride ....but I think that she is a big American country singer isnt she?... I do like the similar affect with Lisa Marie( I will have to post these things later, now you have got me going as it were) but not so much with Celine Dion And the grass won't pay no mind I think was much later than the black leather " tv special" I think...its on a great cd, ( might be " memphis to Vegas, Vegas to Memphis" ) that I've got somewhere but with youtube I think even cds are a little bit " obsolete" As an aside I bought a Brenan ( Google it) a few years back ...have you come across them....basically a hard drive plus, v good but so must admit not used as much as I would have thought . Cheeers for that, you've sharpened me mind. Just had a look... It's from the album 'In Person: Live at the International Hotel, LV.'.. which I think is part of the 'Memphis/Vegas' live compilation. I'm pretty sure I've seen it live {on tv}, the section of 'Little bit of Green', going into 'Grass Won't Pay No Mind.' Sure it was a similar intimate set up to 'Comeback'. But I may be just conflating the two over time. {Been one of those musical quests.} I'll have a tour around the tube later. {More pressing concerns}. I'm crap at all that tech stuff. Still vinyl and cd's... I use youtube more than anything but rarely buy/save/store any music at all these days. The jukebox is pretty much full. I've got the 'In Person' double vinyl somewhere. Have you seen Trevor Murray, doing Elvis? Ktf.

I don't really like tribute acts...but have seen Gordon Hendricks a couple of times, a Stoke lad....He won " the ultimate Elvis" at Graceland this year...hes very good , as is Shaun klush. Just for the laugh there is a Patelvis , I want to see, I have met him but not seen him perform...big Elvis fan, does the Indian restaurants circuit I will be in Buxton in January for this.. I've warmed to 'live' tribute acts, as long as they don't cost too much, rake them for what they are. Seen David Live {Bowie} a few times in small venues {WMC Club} thought it was fantastic. Limehouse Lizzy are pretty nifty too. I like the look of that Buxton show, nowt sad about it at all. Love a bit of gospel. The Opera house is a great venue/night out. Last gig I went there was John Martyn, or maybe Echo & the Bunnymen. El Viz was ok. I think I've posted some The King stuff before, he's good, makes me laugh.

They were often in the shadow of Dr Feelgood in this genre of British blues music but Nine Below Zero were (and still are) 'The dogs bollocks' The harp solo at 3:08 in this video is one of the most orgasmic things I've ever heard
