Well, I'm getting to that stage of life, but I have now worked out that I have two favourite screwdrivers. A small slot headed electrical screwdriver, and a much larger grey handled Philips screwdriver. Am I alone as having favourite screwdrivers?

There is something comforting about having a decent tool for the right job. A balance in the hand. A comfortable handle and a tip that isn't going to get chewed up in the screw slot. My favourite screwdriver involves vodka though. :-)

No but I have a favourite corkscrew though Screwdrivers remind me of work & for this reason I'm out. Corkscrews on the other hand... I have had this pair of Archimedies pump action beauties for over fourty years. The bits are case hardened and still look like new. The larger one will never be defeated as it allows massive torque to be applied to the most stubborn of screws. Attachment Deleted

I have one of them Stanley Ratchet jobs that hold the extra bits in around it, I can't find a decent battery powered one (can't afford one) that has anything in its batteries when it is needed.
Used to use a ratchet snap on one when I was building PCs for a living that was real quality and well worth paying for.

The ones me and the missus had in the Sky Bar on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, absolutely perfect with that crystallised sugar around the rim of the glass...Frigging 18 quid a pop mind, but it was her birthday...
