Big changes or same team ?
I see Sturridge is gonna start and if fit he'd be my first choice up front

I'd pick the same side and rotate the subs a bit but I'm guessing he'll pick a new side.
So excited after the other night and am longing for him to give that side a long run together.

Looking forward to it. Will be at the game. Was hoping to see Jack and Affellay both play but obviously that won't happen now.
Not sure why Milner is going to be captain when he is unlikely to start in France.

100% with you re:sturridge mate..if we want 7 minutes of action before he gets injured then may as well make it the first 7 seriously though, we have so many sicknotes around the england team the last few years with walcott, wheelchair, wellbeck but the one that frustrates me the most is Sturridge. would be absolute quality for england to have him at 100% regularly

Milner will be playing as he's been named captain so I'm guessing there's going to be changes.

Counting tomorrow I think Owl has 3 games (maybe corrected on that) until the Euros. Time to play a settled 11/12/13 and get a rythym going. They gave themselves an excellent platform on Saturday, something to build confidence on. Mass changes won't help anyone. I still think Rooney and Wilshire will walk back in, wrong as it is. As for Sturridge, there are goals in Vardy Welbeck Ali, Sturridge for me isn't as much a team player, he plays for himself, benched imo.

He will have to change the team because there will be agreements with the club not to overplay players, and he needs to check the range of the squad anyway, its not like a club side where you can pick an unchanged line up, the manager doesn't have that luxury.
Milner is captain because he is one of the most experienced players in the squad, same as Cahill. Doesn't mean he will start in other games.

It will probably be wholesale changes to see what the rest of the squad can do

I think he will make wholesale changes however I'd be playing a settled side now in preparation to the tournament. Let the young side gel and get to know each other. As for affelay I hope he has a good game but his team get stuffed

As for affelay I hope he has a good game but his team get stuffed He wont be able to play a settled side because he will be restricted in the amount of game time he can give players. At this crucial point of the season clubs and managers will not want their players playing 2 x 90 minutes against high quality opposition.

Only right to give players who didn't feature in Berlin a chance to shine Shirley?
I'm sure that is what will happen. Sturridge is one.

Why is an Everton reserve starting for England anyway? Because he's the future FFS. As Martin Keown said, "Put him in the team, let him make a mistake, let him make twenty mistakes. Get him used to playing in the team." The same Martin Keown who said "Shawcross had his chance and he blew it." To be fair to Keown, at least his assessment of the average Stones performance was accurate.

It doesn't matter
Come Russia he will play wilshite and Rooney if fit. Probably Carrick and Walcott too.
This could be a great young team he's ruining it.
His interview today was all Rooney Rooney

His interview today was all Rooney Rooney I think Wilshere in that side would enhance it. Henderson isn't very good and Wilshere instead would be excellent, he'd link the play much better.

Some changes here and there. Welbeck is a bit overlooked in it all. Hopefully it's a good game again.

The fact is he's been very poor this season and is out of the Everton side on merit. There surely has to be some referencing of form when picking your national team and when you can't get into a bottom half Premier League side you really shouldn't be starting for England. I just don't see what he's done to warrant this special treatment?

Much as we all detest Wilshire for his arrogance this undeniably correct. However Wilshire has been injured for ever. He should not go as he won't have proved his fitness. For me doubts still over Sturridge, less so Welbeck, but at least he is playing. Oxlade Chamberlain,Walcott and Shaw shouldn't go either for similar reasons. Rooney has to be a doubt too. England have been taking unfit players to tournaments since 1982 and it's failed every time.
