Was watching the cricket a few weeks a go from New Zealand on Sky.
In one of the quieter periods of play they zoomed in on a cameraman (well woman actually) who was providing the shots from the cherry picker - about 40 or 50m high behind the bowlers arm.
They showed some shots of how high it was, and one of the commentators who had gone up in it earlier. They explained that it was quite safe - that the camerawoman was in a safety harness in the cage. They then said that there was also a safety officer up there - to make sure she was safe. They zoomed in some more, and there was a youngish lad, hood pulled over, sat on the floor, headphones on, watching his ipad. Now can someone explain to me how having an extra 'safety' officer in a small cab/cage, can possibly, in any shape of form, aid in the slightest, safety please?

Having lived and worked in New Zealand health and safety are very scarce. You can drive a car at 15 without a license over there.
