You started most of them! Guilty as charged, my friend!
Trouble is, there's only me, Metalhead & occasionally Cheesefreex who like the Heavy Metal one, its a hopeless cause I still keep adding stuff on every day in vain
The Prog & Classical Music one's started well but ran out of steam. All the older farts like me have been embroiled in the political arena. I'll let them die (the threads, not the old farts!) until something good pops in my head and I revive them again.
I cant really compete with all this trendy, young, fresh music can I LOL????
Now, If you prefer, I do have a few ideas for some fresh political threads.....
Time to tuck your wings in and do some homework. LLCool gave me Todd Terje. Good stuff. I still don't rate Foals though.

Tell you what, Im so out of touch with modern music, even as a metal fan, most of the new metal stuff just doesn't do it for me. ive honestly never heard of 90% of the bands listed on here Agreed about the Metal bit. All the stuff now is either un-listenable or comes across as a parody of itself. There's definitely a gap in the market for a decent metal band to completely dominate it. Its all about Extremes now with Metal
I think in a way its possibly had its day in terms of anything NEW that's good coming out. There's only so much scope in Metal and there's a finite supply of chords & riffs. Sabbath, Priest, Metallica etc they've all had the good stuff.
To be fair, I think Iron Maiden are still filling that middle ground well. The last double album, Book Of Souls is an absolute monster, one of their best and probably their most ambitious. I still have vague hopes that Metallica's next album will be decent, although I long gave up on expecting things as good as Ride The Lightning & Master Of Puppets.
Avenged Sevenfold a couple of years ago were touted as being the next in the line of Sabbath - Maiden -Metallica to possibly achieve domination. Their last couple of albums are excellent examples of well written & performed mid tempo metal, although very derivative in places and lacking in cred with metal's more hardcore followers for who its all about brutality.
Motorhead have been very consistent too but for obvious & sad reasons that great institution has now closed for business.
Only time will tell, if Guns N Roses will return with strong material as has been touted. I think Rose, nobhead as he is, genuinely is one of my generations great songwriters. Chinese Democracy was phenomenal even without the original members
Anyway, heres Book Of Souls in its entire 90 mins

Been listening to a lot of Thundercat (worked with Kendrick Lamar and Kamasi Washington) recently, very decent stuff. Off to see him this weekend amongst others, really looking forward to it.
The new Glass Animals album is really good an all. They could well be massive.
