Great news. Well done, Jon - fully deserved. A great player with a fantastic attitude and more real personality than whole teamfulls of modern footballers.

Great news and well done SJW, but out of interest....
...why are they holding an annual awards event in March?

Who were the other candidates?? TEST I'd hope Whelan would get a look in. Whelan's been a great captain for us since Ryan's back went, but even the Ireland fans I know give him shit, they way many have on here over the years. Sideways passer, the crab etc. There are loads of young Irish lads here working in Toronto right now and I've yet to get thru an Ireland game at the pub without hearing Whelan getting abuse. Its funny because Walters was the boo boy until that Germany game. Football fans can be fickle, they say Whelan has contributed far more than Walters this season

Jon very proud of you from all.of us in Cork I live in Cork too, never met another Stoke fan there though! No excuses. Now is the time to get yourselves acquainted and then start working together on getting a stronger SCFC fan club in your lovely town of Cork. More the merrier!

Well deserved.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy in the game. A true professional who wears his heart on his sleeve. Despite his weaknesses he always gives his all, and he's scored some cracking good goals during his time at Stoke.
All the best Super J W's.

Great news and well done SJW, but out of interest.... ...why are they holding an annual awards event in March? Calendar year awards. Usually co-incides with the first international of the year, as the players are all over anyway. Congrats to SJW too. Well deserved.
