Ali & Willey could just about win us this match in these last two overs.
That 25 off the 19th was MASSIVE in the context of this match.

Gave us a big scare but came through with a win.
Funny old game. Half time against West Indies I thought we were going to win. Half time against SA and Afghanistan I thought we were going to lose.

From the sublime to the ridiculous as far as the batting goes.
But a win is a win so onwards to the next game.
Not yet seen the game so can't really comment on individual performances, but, looking at the figures, it is very good to see Plunkett do well, 4 overs for just 12 runs including a maiden.

India 118-6 off 17 so far against Bangladesh.
Could be interesting.
They could do with a 19th over like we had!
Edit - 146-7 off their 20. Could well not be enough - to win the game or even if they win it to get their net run rate high enough to qualify for the semis. The cloud look suitably downbeat!

I was just about to type rain won't help them - Bangladesh are well ahead. But then they lose their 4th wicket softly... 60 now needed off 53. Should be Bangladesh but you never know. They don't seem to be content pushing the ball around, but those big hits can cost wickets. And that is the only way they lose if I reckon.

Anyone else think it was a bit dodgy? India lose, they are more or less out, semi final and final would be played in half empty stadiums.

I see Shane Watson has announced he is retiring after the World T20 - the last link to when Australia ruled the world.
I reckon, despite some impressive limited overs stats and occassional performances, he'll be remembered (if he is) as someone who didn't reach the levels of performance he could have got to. Underwhelming seems an appropriate word to describe his cricket career - maybe a bit harsh though?

No, that's a pretty fair assesmnt of him , it's surprising that he played as many Tests s he did , his bowling was never up to scratch at the highest level . He had reasonable success at the top of the order for a time when Australia were struggling to find opening batsmen he will always be remembered for sticking his front foot across is stumps for yet another LBW dismissal ! ...One of the highest paid cricketers in the world due to his lucrative advertising deals surprisingly !

Good news with the Windies beating South Africa. Means net run rate is now out of the equation. We beat Sri Lanka tomorrow we qualify for the semi final.
C'mon England!

Wel - half time and we are in the game 171 is a decent score. Good contributions from Roy but especially from Butler (66 off 37). Morgan though continues to disappoint. Stoke's showed him what to do at the death - his first ball, the last ball of the innings, smashed for 6. That could be the decisive moment in this game.
Now let's see how we bowl.

He had so many injuries when he was younger it reduced him from a genuine quick to a military medium otherwise he could have been decent. Also seemed a decent guy for an Aussie and hated Warner and Clarke which is another plus mark for him.
