Yesterday was the perfect tonic! And I actually got to watch match of the day for the first time in weeks!! Doesn't the world just seem like a happier place after a win (particularly a convincing win)...got the break now and hopefully by time we line up against villa we should have lots of the guys back from injury (shawcross in particular!) Can't wait to see more of Imbula - he looks the real deal! Great to be feeling the love as its Valentine's Day...

Yes, back to winning ways with a good performance and a result to match. Great for the fans who made the long trip down there and back. I was a little worried with the line up at the start of the match but the players played like a team and really got it together.
Bournemouth started the brighter but we coped with an early spell from them quite well. Closing them down and not letting them play their football, yes sometimes giving away fouls in the middle of the pitch (Djouf had a few) but not in a dirty or malicious way. They didn’t know what to do after we did this and as soon as Gilbert (Imbula) scored it knocked them back and the game was ours. The second and third goals were brilliant bits of counter attacking play and dribbled crossed headed finishing respectively. The game was quite open so I wasn’t surprised they got one back on us. But thankfully with all the defensive problems we managed to keep the lead at 2 goals.
The defensive is continuing to be a problem and it looks like we will have maybe out third choice players in there but there’s not a lot we can do about that until the better players return from injury. I am still not convinced Teixera’s any good but he didn’t do anything wrong in the second half (little that he had to do)
I am not going to get carried away it is only 1 game and 3 points, but with a down and out beaten Villa side coming up next we have a great oppourtunity to get another win and go a unbeaten run for a few games.

The MailOnline is getting a bit carried away with the new Stoke, comparing Walters with Pele and Neymar yesterday.

Some rubbish comments coming from the panel tonight
1. Johnson not a defender - He was only England class up until a few years ago 2. Whelan terrible - who are you watching, hes one of the unsung heroes.
Switching off now heard too much rubbish already!

Mail online detail especially for you But the changes backfired when Stoke scored two goals in three minutes. The first, on 52 minutes, was a flowing counter, Glenn Whelan playing a ball down the right flank for Jonathan Walters. The striker performed the sweetest of skills, deceiving defender Steve Cook without even touching the ball, feinting to cut inside then allowing it to run down the flank. Cook gave a groan. Pele pulled off the greatest of these moves against Uruguay in the 1970 World Cup, beating goalkeeper Ladislao Mazurkiewicz before missing an open goal. Neymar executed another for Barcelona a few years back, but was brutally taken out. Walters went one better and passed into Afellay, who buried a first-time shot into the right of goal. Evening all. Great day out yesterday. Everyone played well. A special mention to Mama who fitted into just about every position on the pitch. The fans were excellent again.

I think that it was MH intention to introduce Bojan from the bench
Injuries to 2 of the back 4 prevented this imo
Diouf having to move to RB meant that Joselu was the more likely replacement
He did introduce Stephen Ireland near the end which was unexpected

You're right about the celebrations, a few young lads leapt past us to get to the front yesterday, but to be fair they were quite nice lads. They're maybe just a bit lacking any thought for others. Saying that , the men at the front who were encouraging them are not youngsters, but are blokes in their forties and fifties.
