Merse usually backs us and has said a lot of positive things about us but this week he reckons "I've watched Stoke a couple of times recently and they've gone". Strong words indeed and I hope he's very wrong. We do need to get something on sat before the 2 week break where we can re-group and hopefully finish the season well.

Well we have 'gone' lately.
Still can soon come back again.
There will be no panic at Stoke.
Class is permanent e.t.c. Hughes has class, lots of the team do. Need some focus.

I'm surprised he knows what day of the week it is. All pundits are the same. They change their mind on who is going down with every passing week.
Clueless!

For that to have happened MH would have had to "lose" the dressing room. There cannot be even a possible whiff of that if Bojan has signed a 4+ year contract.
We all know the main problem, no Shawcross.
Plus a lack of direction in the mid-field, just aimless passing the ball. I'm confident Imbula will bring that to the team; maybe it is too much to expect it straightaway, but let's give him a few weeks and matches to get to know his team mates and adapt to the speed and physicality of the Prem., which is well suited to handle.

He is my favourite pundit but he often uses quite colloquial language like that rather loosely. It's his way of coming across like a fan.

Bar the odd exceptional few, they tell you is what is happening (rather than why its happening or what will happen) which you tend to be able to determine for yourself!

I wonder how many will assume by "gone" he means going down and not just "gone" as if our heads have gone at the moment and we're playing shite.

Don't think bojan would sign a four year deal if we had gone , people should realise we are Stoke city and not Barcelona and that any team in the prem can lose form , look at Chelsea for an example

One of the very few pundits who i can accept saying negative things about us cos i know he is pretty honest and doesn't churn out the same old shit like shearer or wright etc.. He is right to say we have gone, January has been dreadful and we have been shipping goals. Who would back us to get 3 points on Saturday in our form?

He is great when he compliments us and a knob when he doesn't. Our gutless performances of late make his comment very credible at the moment. I can't believe how pissed off i am still about how bad we have been lately. We may be inconsistent, but when you don't put the effort into every game then you are going to be. After the 1st game i put it down to tiredness, but 3 games in a row without even looking up it is shocking with the teams we have had to play.

Merson is thick as shit. Makes most footballers look like Stephen Hawkins. Contradicts himself every week. Check out the football365 website where they take the piss out of him every week.

In the short term Mers is bang on, we have hit a shit patch of form and have turned from top 6 outsider maybe 8th at the worst to a lucky if we finish in the top half of the table type of team, if we did not have the amount of points already on the board I would be a tadge worried about our situation with current performances and goals that we are conceding, luckily for Stoke, who ever plays along side Ryan turns in to a world class centre half that looks like they could walk in to any Champions league side in Europe, yet unluckily for Stoke, as soon as Ryan is injured that same world class looking Centre half becomes a lumbering cart horse devoid of any positional sense and loses the will to tackle, track or pass the ball, when Muni played along side him.....unbelievably good, when wolli played along side him......unbelievably good, put them together and all of a sudden they seem to have had a different team talk to each other and decide for them selves to be doing their own thing .....
BUT.............
We have Ryan coming back from injury so we will have the stability in defence, we have a new midfielder that will hopefully contribute over the next few weeks once he finds his feet in the team, so hopefully the amount of times that the ball comes back at us when our attack breaks down will reduce, hopefully Bojan can put a few months of unrest behind him, his long term future lies at Stoke and he can put in a few performances in that we know he can so that we can start to chalk up a few goals, hopefully the sunshine break gets the boys rejuvenated and back on track and the lack of FA cup games and free Saturdays give the boys time to recuperate from any injuries again giving us time to get back on track.
Saying that I still feel we will lose against Bournemouth today and at this point of the day I would take a draw, I still think that as per usual we will struggle against a very shit side by losing at home against Villa before our team turns things around and starts putting points on the board against Newcastle.
Onwards and upwards.....there's always next season...Again!
