Watching them on TV now brings back memories
In those heady Div 3 days of the Autoglass southern area final
Tense 3-3 draw at home, Paul Ware super free kick 1-0 away win to go to Wembley (my first time)
April 1992 - where did that go!

I can't believe that was 24 years ago. Remember walking out of the ground to see hundreds of stoke fans stood on car roofs, horns beeping in triumph. Thought it was going to be my only trip to Wembley. Bloody hell life's going by so quick. Suppose I'd better start enjoying myself and not getting so wound up about stuff

Rammed in under that cow shed of a roof on that small terrace in front of which Paul Ware scored, that was what I call a 'high noise' terrace, packed and with that low roof no chance of the noise disappearing in to the ether, the sound nearly stripped the paint off the walls when the winner flew in. BOOM

I remember some madhead swinging across the beams of the low roof. Dangling above people's heads. Like a pissed up lower division version of Gladiators

Like a pissed up lower division version of Gladiators Didn't he walk along or at least stand on the beam for ages before the match? This was a big deal for us at the time , a fantastic celebration inside the ground and outside afterwards, the atmosphere at Wembley was also electric.

I wasn't there, but my lad was. He still rambles on about it today and says it's the most memorable game of his 40 years as a Stokie. I was listening to it on the wireless and when Warey scored, I was like a lunatic. LOL. RIP Legend. OS.

I still have that game on a VHS tape.
Memorable moments include:
- abusing Bobby Gould from the car park to the ground - David Pleat commenting on our support, the camera panning across to us and focusing in on my mates, one of which had his underpants on his head - the mental when the goal went in. Tupper celebrated like one of us. I finished at least 50 feet from where I started. - the celebrations at the end both inside and outside the stadium. We're Proud of you!!
Could you imagine going home that night as a Posh fan. Must have been devastating for them.

Watched it in a packed Old Brown Jug in Castle, the place erupted when Warey scored, the elation on his face at the final whistle was amazing to see.
Also it was great to see us put one over that vile flat faced fucker Mick Halsall.

Two days before the game I broke a bone in my foot. It absolutely knackered. The consultant told me not to weight bear for a month. Bollocks to that I put on my walking boots strapped them on as tightly as I could and went to the game. The mixture of pain and pleasure when Tupper scored will live with me for ever.
It wanna too bad until my fat bastard of a mate landed straight on my foot in the ensuing melee.
I count it as one of my best games ever in what is my favourite ever time supporting Stoke City.

Them were days. VCRs and Central Sport highlights Imagine the meltdown on here after that game. We'll never get to Wemberley* now. Typical Stoke went two nil up and had me believing we'll do this the easy way. Why is it never like that with Stoke!

I seriously think I owe my life that night to the bloke who invented goal nets!!
I can't remember a ball ever being struck that hard and I'm sure it was coming straight at me!
I drove down the A1 from Leeds after work like a madman to get to that game listening to David Byrne's latest CD
Whenever I hear "Girls on my mind" it brings it all back, fantastic night, only downside was having to drive back without a drink!!

I remember being there, went up by car from Portsmouth, remember the goal and staying on after chanting for Macari, think a Navy mate of mine drove us up, don't remember drinking before the game or much else to be fair :|
