The word legend gets used way too liberally but there isn't a word more fitting for Andy Wilkinson. He was truly one of us, we lived our dreams through him. He made it to the top not by being technically gifted, but by doing what so many of us testify we would do if we could. He put his body, his career (and I don't think it's an overstatement to say even potentially his life!), on the line for our great club. He bleeds red and white stripes. The man is our hero and he deserves his testimonial.
Signed, stokiepmre89.

Has moved into property now I believe (friend of a friend lives next door to him) and although I have never met him personally, I am told he is a bloody nice guy and a big family man!
Legend is a word that is often used too easily and I often disagree! But Wilko I believe we can attach that word to only a Stoke City Legend! Terry stays at Chrlsea for so long and gets creamed over, same with Gerrard! Wilko nearly 15 years with us and..........nothing!
Never the best player to play football but what he lost in ability, he made up for in fight, loyalty, bravery and full on fucking Nutterness (I made that word up!)

He definitely deserves one. We could organise a 'Wilko Select 11' vs Vale, that would get the fans through the door and give him the reception he deserves. He didn't ever score for us did he? That's a pity, :-(

Please Stoke.
Get Arsenal down on the pretext it's a friendly. Then tell Wilko to go and have some fun...

I'm completely against a testimonial game for Wilko.
I'd much rather see a one on one death match between him and Jack Wilshere.

Wilko is due one and will get one, but he needs to get himself fit enough to play in it first. There were talks about him having one then he got injured. Get him fit first then talks will resume

SIGNED
Remember his run and shot against Man U (I think)? Beat a couple of men then from the corner of the box fired an arrow just over the angle of bar and post. I thought it was going in and was gutted it didn't, would have been the perfect strike to have as his only Stoke goal. I was planning 'I Was There When Wilko Scored' t shirts but never got the chance.
The lad definitely deserves a testimonial. Played the game like a true warrior.

Give him a testimonial. I'm not in favor of contrived sport but I'll make this one exception. Make sure he scores as well.

It's a fine initiative, but I don't doubt for a minute that the club will offer him one when and if he is officially forced to retire. At the moment there might still be avenues of treatment unexplored.

A quiet legend. Absolutely deserves a testimonial. An inspiration to anyone who appreciates the beautiful game, before it became infected with the prima donnas and cheats. Thanks Andy, for all the times you made me feel proud to be a Stokie.

Absolutely loved Wilko, I thought him and Pennant had a brilliant complimentary partnership. His extra commitment above the call of duty for SCFC no doubt cost him in injuries. I'd wholeheartedly get involved in whatever the Club organises. I echo all the sentiments on this thread.
Just a thought though, not wishing to be disrespectful to the great man, nor wishing to be a killjoy. What Wilko wants is key. If the diagnosis indicates that playing football would be too risky for his health or eyesight, then would holding a Testimonial that he couldn't take an active part in the best way of celebrating his career with us. Perhaps a statue, bust, or naming the new development at the Academy in his honour might be more appropriate. As someone mentioned Wilko was always a quiet force, he doesn't strike me as the type of fellow who likes too much fuss., it wouldn't be a financial need for him. I could imagine watching his testimonial involving his peers from the stands would be an emotional rollercoaster.
Signed up to whatever Wilko wants.
