Normally I'm against testimonials for top flight players as they are all millionaires. But in cases like this we should make an exception - he's been a great servant to the club and his career has ended in a pretty horrible way. Let's have a testimonial for him - in pre season preferably. nowadays Prem footballers who do have them almost always give the money to charity anyway LP count me in, fucking love Wilko!

I fucking loved Wilko, I hope there's a place for him at the club in some form, such a shame his career has ended in such a horrible way.

He is 1 of our own he should be given all the help and support he needs starting with a testimonial and I'm sure there must be a job in the training staff he could fill if not make one

His contract expired in January I think. He's suffered some sort of brain damage hasn't he? He may very well never recover I understand it is more related to his eyesight and one more blow could cause a loss of vision in one eye, as opposed to brain damage. Sad nevertheless. Detached retina i believe and i guess Wilko is grasping at straws to keep playing. Sadly won't happen but i like the guy and wish him all the best. No doubt he will get a decent wedge from the PFA & insurers. Signed Percyfilth.

This has to happen the lads a legend would run through a brick wall for stoke , be great to have an all star prem stoke eleven , Fuller , Lawrence , Rory , Sorenson , Etherington etc etc . This would surely have the Brit full to the rafters , a chance for the fans to thank all the hero's who have given us so much pride and pleasure over the last 8 years and Wiko was a massive part of that .

Testimonial has to happen!
Signed lgh87
Is it still common practice to let the player score in his own testimonial?
It could cause some absolutely unreal scenes of wilko bags on his testimonial haha!

The club wouldn't organise a friendly for the 150th anniversary. I'm not holding my breath. But signed anyway.

Where's the footage when he took a full tackle, flew through the air, got up and shook hands. Awesome home grown lad. Testimonial is the least he deserves ...if you're reading this Stoke City.

Never mind all the them prima donnas we've got.........
Wilko was my fave player over the last 10-years. He always gave everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!!
There was never a player to get the crowd going more than Wilko, rember that Gardner tackle..... Wilko shook his hand, Gardner went missing, crapping himself along the way.
I'd love to see a testimonial for him and I really think it would be fantastically supported.

Happy to support a testimonial.
That said didn't Stoke sign him back on for a while so that he could have treatment at the clubs expense?
