Prompted by my threat not to renew my season ticket (ahem) it was great to see us spend significant money on one player yesterday AND the apparent will to spend even more on Berahino. Surely now the club has to believe it can sell out an expanded stadium?
We'll be spending big again in the summer - fill the effing corners in already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry.

Seem`s shortsighted not to expand and build on current high profile.

How do we know that the players signing want the corners filled in? Maybe that's part of our unique selling point to them & they all dream of playing on a cold, wet, windy Tuesday night?

I am baffled at the 'need 1000 more season ticket holders before expansion' mantra being trotted out by the club. We are on a huge upward curve and if we can keep our major stars and make another major signing in the summer of a striker who can solve our goalscoring problems surely there will be a surge in season ticket sales. Christ if we sign someone of the calibre of Berahino up front then I might even buy a season ticket myself and I live in feckin Atlanta Georgia!!!

If they don't announce a corner extension ready for next season in the next few months may as well just shit bin every reference to it ever again on here as it won't be happening......

Why not maintain the stadiums awkward design and just expand the boothen end into a larger single tier.

Filling in the corners is a bit short sighted IMO. True ambition would be shown by an announcement to build a new stadium.

Why not maintain the stadiums awkward design and just expand the boothen end into a larger single tier. And rebuild the dressing rooms/tunnel in the Boothen corner of the Main Stand.

Got to say I don't have a season ticket because of other interests of equal importance that can take weekends up
I'm not the most organised either so don't always plan ahead so if i go its often a last minute thing. The amount of times we are sold out when i have rang up for a last minute ticket or there is just a couple left for first row of here & here is a fair few and i just don't go.
Im sure i'm not the only one either

A few factors before ground improvements:
1. Continuing improvements on the pitch, generating a continuous period of Brit waiting lists. 2. Sort out the Stadium sponsorship/re-naming. 3. The end of the Hillsborough Inquiry and a wider acceptance of safe standing/rail seating.
It feels like we're building towards this, it could all come together this Summer, with the increased revenue and the Euro Tournament which will create extra interest in Stoke players and Stoke, and the fact that there'll be work on the playing surface {which may provide an opportunity to do the stand work too.} The expense of bringing the plant in required to do one corner may as well overhaul the whole thing I'd have thought. The existing infrastructure and access etc is a headache, but where there's a will and all that. Definitely feels like it's onwards and upwards.

Waiting for supporters to come to the club and beg for tickets is ridiculous, it's a pathetic cop out by the club,so many people say they'd love go stoke but can't get tickets together even though 300 tickets are left, a dad ain't going take his 2 kids one on row 1 another on row 5 then another on row 10,adding more seats would help the club move people closer together freeing up seat's, and if the fans just don't turn up its upto the club to go out and find the fans promote the club expand the product stoke City, spurs are moving from a 36 thousand capacity stadium to a 61 thousand capacity stadium, it's showing the floating supporter's we want you here, but Coates just doesn't want to see that, and the end of the day I just think he still doesn't trust the supporters after what's happened in the past.

Adjacent corners of adult only safe standing would be very easy to sort out surely, not to mention popular at a cheaper rate

Clubs like Spurs and Liverpool have waiting lists with thousands of fans waiting for season tickets . Some fans wait many years for the chance to buy one

Why do people keep mentioning safe standing? It's currently not an option and we are taking about the now
IF it ever did become an option why do you think we would be one of the first clubs to install it? Look at the stadium and tell me where your getting the idea that we are going to lead the way with any such concept? Our support is pretty much agreed with the line "premier league on the pitch and league 2 off it".

Or should we hold off on an expansion for a few years to see if the safe standing laws get passed?

History tells the chairman the support on a regular bacis is not yet there, the argument about not sitting together would still be the same with a 32000 seats the only way you are can ensure two seats together is to get two season tickets ,it corners need filling in so the stadium would look finished, I said I would not post on this subject again but I am bored sitting with all these London Mancs

There are at least half a dozen league games with increased home and away capacity that we could expect a 35k plus gate. The biggest problem with an increased ground capacity is access and car parking. The site of the old ground would make an excellent high capacity car park and bus people to the ground from there. Perhaps build a hardcore walkway too as it's not that far to walk. This would take pressure off around the ground which I suspect is one of the stumbling blocks.
