I think we are generally getting better and I don't want any kind of back track to TP football but I do wish we played a faster more penetrating game at times. Leicester hardly made a sideways pass on Saturday and always were looking to put us under pressure . I think we need to do more of that . We try to score the perfect goal a bit too much . I think we had most possession on Saturday yet they were far and away the better side so its what you do with it that matters most in my view

Is this his reaction to our game at Leicester? Edit - Bit random, but is it just me who thinks Pulis looks like a younger Len Goodman!?!?! Can't see it myself mate They look really similar to me haha

Bored? no Frustrated sometimes? yes. Like someone else said I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than have Pulis back, in fact I would cry real tears if I found out the negative fucker came back. I love Hughes even though I don't always agree with his decisions.

I'm happy.
We've had some shitty games where we look clueless, but I'm having more fun than most of the time under Pulis.

With the Hughes style of football? All the tippy tappy sideways and backwards passing not much fight in the team when we go a goal down and not much idea against side who want to defend an play direct football. God forbid I wouldn't want Pulis back in nay shape or form or nay other manager with a similar philosophy about how football should be played. We have no idea how to score from set pieces, we have quality wingers who rarely cross the ball and strikers who don't score but get picked week in week out. We have journeymen players that are picked ahead of up and coming youngsters when we play cup games against lower league teams yet still we struggle and just about manage to scrape past them. Perhaps all the talk of Hughes deserving a bigger job has clouded his judgement somewhat. Yes, definitely. I too miss the long balls into the channels because you just never know what they will bring. I also miss the long throw and the whole attitude of "Let's chuck something into the mixer". Today's football is like watching Barcelona but without the goals. When Hughes eventually goes we should go all out to get Super Tone back. If we can't get him then "Big" Howard Wilkinson should be the man to get.

Talking to a West Brom fan today Id not seen at work for a while about the six points they got off us this season Im telling you - he said three shots on target in the last two home games (sound familiar ?) young talented prospects leaving the club in droves becasue they now know - they'll never, ever, get a game (sound familiar ?) A star striker worn down young -highly rated but - demotivated - disenfranchaised by the manager -- price dropping throuh the floor day by day because he never plays ( sound familiar ?) - WELL from the baggies fan - I was expecting some flak - he was near suicidal, I can tell youdreaming of being able to watch a team like ours with Bojan, Affellay, Arnie, Shakiri et al So - the OP is talking some shyte I can tell you OHHHHHH its spiderman - explains a lot - (once a tool - always - a tool ! ) Have a look at the West Brazil message board which you can view at the top of here, proves everything you say - and I had a wry smile as I read it.

No, no a thousand times no. Like most of us, I pick out our faults and thrash it out on here but that's football and the point of forums, you'll not hear me f'ing and blinding about our players and Hughes team/sub selection because on the whole I'm loving what we have going at Stoke and buy in 100% to Hughes and his team and background staff. F'ing cacking myself about tonight's semi, the prospect is making me a nervous wreck!

And yet they'll be first in the queue for final tickets. Wankers.

How does the question "is anyone getting a little bored" get interpreted by some as "do you want Pulis back" especially when you consider Spiderman was 1 of TPs biggest critics was he not ?

I think the build up play is a lot better, reminds me of how Arsenal us to play against us backwards and sideways that football is ok as long as your winning, and can find a killer ball, the system works better against teams who come at us, I think as Arsenal found out that if you defend properly and get players behind the ball it's hard to break a team down, it's about getting a balance between the 2 or knowing when to change, tactics, my only grudge is sometimes Hughes don't have a plan B or he does but changes it too late,to make a difference, it's like when was the last time we scored from a set piece or corner, it's wasting opportunities just think of how many we have through the season

Don't want pulls back; but do want us to be positive in our play. We look like lost little souls at the minute. People talk about attacking football but we don't get any; it's all passing along the back four; when do we press the opposition back four as a unit? Can you say with any confidence who we will look to to score tonight? We are being out thought out fought out passed out manoeuvred on a regular basis. Whatever our strengths are, we are not playing to them at the moment. And don't get me started on the number of unforced errors we make. My rule of thumb, when the ball breaks free, the team that seems to be always there to pick up the loose ball is the one on form and with desire, we're just statues at other teams parties.

I can't for the life of me understand the OP.
We have some of the most talented players ever to put on a Stoke City shirt, a CC semi-finalist, 9th in the world's toughest league (after a draw and defeat), still in the FA Cup and people still look for something to moan about.
I remember fans complaining about "tippy tappy" football during the late 60s under Waddington. The issue was resolved when Ritchie came back and we bought Greenhoff, which gave us targets for our wonderful mid-field/wide players. So far MH has struggled like TP to find that elusive 20+ goals/season striker, but they are few and far between (although Leicester have found 2!). Maybe we won't win anything, but let's enjoy what we have and give them 100% support.

Are you that guy from praise and grumble who's always saying "bring back Puuuuuulis" ?
We're playing some of the best football in the league (on our day). We're comfortably battling for a top 10 position and we're doing it with fuck all investment.
There's nothing wrong with remembering what Tone did but fuck me, this shit is boring now. He's gone, he's not coming back and that's that. Embrace what we have now eh bud?

So he casts out his line and starts to pull in the fish....glad I have got a life.....
On the even of a huge game for us too, you couldn't make it up.
I am away with work and the game will be on while I am flying back to London. As I come off the plane I will know the outcome as soon as the phone cranks back into life.
COME ON STOKE GIVE IT A MASSIVE GO FOR ALL OF US, THIS GAME IS WINNABLE!!!!!!COYMP!!!!!
If we win I promise Heathrow will see a serious and slightly disturbing solo mental....they will have to haul me away to the cop shop....BRING IT ON!!!!

He's a good manager but it's true, he doesn't have a plan B when losing or teams park the bus, but could be worse, could be Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle or West Brazil. Be grateful for where we are He doesn't have a plan b that works....yet. So far this season we have played 4 1 2 3, 4 2 1 3, false 9, 4 4 2. If thats not a manager working on a team with more strings to it's bow, i don't know what is. Not only that but he's done well enough to have the luxury of a degree of experimentation from a position of relative security in the league.

Good words, this is what i struggle to get my head around, we'd be a lot better pressing with a quicker passing game imo & being hungry for the ball back when we don't have it instead of dropping back & and often waiting for a mistake

Did Pugsley start a thread like this on the day before the FA Cup Semi Final? probably! The whole thing about Pugsley is he hated Pulis whether we were winning or losing. He was anti-Pulis every single second of every day. His "support" was hardly that during the Pulis years. If anyone else had made the point it would be fair enough, but without going through his old posts he was guilty of exactly the same win/lose/draw. Having said all that the OP is a load of bollocks of course on a day like today
