Stoke Stars 2 - Manchester ordinaries - 0
Dear oh dear ! - I just ached to see that third goal go in to absolutely kill the off
Nice to see us play for one half then - sit back - it looked to me like we were told to conserve energy for Everton
if anything, the relatively early and all 3 substitutions confirmed it for me.
and Yes Armie , Jack and Bojan got the plaudits bu,t how important are Geoff Cameron and Ibrahim Afelaly to our club right now ??
excellent contributions by the entire side today but these two also deserved special mention.

Thought we tailed off a bit after our second goal and didn't perform quite as well as we did against Citeh for 90 minutes.
Butland and shawcross were both immense.

Just watched the highlights on MOTD. Didn't occur to me at the time but why wasn't Young's intervention to stop Arnie scoring in the second half treated as a back pass and indirect free kick in the 6 yard box? He got his foot in the way and steered the ball to his keeper, who picked it up. Clearly deliberately to the keeper as he would not have chosen to put it into his own goal, which was his other option from that position.

Said the same myself, but on reflection I think the ref chose the right option.

I thought the ref was very lenient towards them all game and how Rooney and Fellaini didn't get booked I'll never know. I'm just pleased he had no decisions to give in our box.

This was a good example of why it is badly worded (what option did the defender have but to do that?) but I'm still not sure why it was not a back pass as things stand. Too many bad rules have been added to the game in recent years and this is one of them.

I think it comes down to whether it could be classed as a deliberate pass to the keeper, you'd struggle to say this fell into that category.
