Arnie and Shaq interview too Thought they both came across well in this interview...modest and down to earth after a fantasic display of skill.

Hughes MOTD interview is very interesting. Says he's been wanting to try Bojan at 9 for ages but hasn't felt brave enough.

I like the fact that Hughesy had wanted to put that side out for a while but hadn't dared to do it.
He might think differently now... :-)
Edit: Beat me to it, Slother...

I know I'm biased.
I know it's easy to get carried away after a great win and performance.
But there's nobody I'd rather in the manager's seat at the Brit.
Best manager in the league. End of.

I actually think arnie came across really well especially the reporter trying to get a bone story about the handbags at the end. He completely diffused the issue in the interview.

Hughes MOTD interview is very interesting. Says he's been wanting to try Bojan at 9 for ages but hasn't felt brave enough. Said the same on radio stoke. Also said that when this group understands just how good they can be, we'll be even better. Mark Hughes is the perfect fit for our club. Long may it continue.

Arnie is far more intelligent than people give him credit for. He's obviously had this "childish" tag chucked at him for years but you can tell he is no mug.

LMH "I still have a dept to repay to the Coates family" And I for one he stays for a long time and does just that starting with the League Cup.

Is Sparky the best manager Stoke have ever had?

Not quite...until he wins something Tony Waddington has it (as well as 6 place finish was it?). He's neck and neck with Pulis though....the European adventure is a high water mark but our 2 top 10 finishes is on a par I guess.

I've read a quote somewhere over the weekend where he has said he's still paying back Coates for taking him on. If he actually is here for the long haul and can keep doing what he's done so far, he may be in with a shout. It should be written in to his contact that if he wins a trophy he's guaranteed a statue outside the Brit

Yep, second - a long way t go before he ousts Waddo as the best, at least in the modern era. My dad used to say McGrory was better than Waddington, but there's the little problem with Stanley Matthews that casts a shadow on him

He has done exceptionally well so far. Comparisons from different eras are futile at times but Mark is doing very well indeed.
The only reason his reputation was blighted was because he got blamed when Arry relegated QPR.

He's 2nd on the list id say equal second. Even if the football wasn't as silky...promotion, FA Cup Final and Europe knockout stages surely stand for something? I much prefer MH as our manager but you cant deny Pulis's achievements at the club.

I say give him five years awith our current progress and he'll be the best manager in Stoke City's history. I believe we'll have won a pot and be finishing top 7 regularly.

I think last Saturday was actual genius.
Not just the points and the performance. Also to play that front 4 for the first time against his old club who were top of the table in a televised kickoff. It couldn't have worked better to raise the clubs profile. And his for that matter.

In my lifetime it's;-
1. Tony Waddington 2. Mark Hughes 3. Lou Macari
Can't comment on Bob McGrory as before my time but I guess he was closest to winning the league?

1. Waddo Poolis and Hughes joint second to date. Poo got us up to the PL, FA cup final and Europe but jeez, the fallout. Hughes has been battling the image since joining the club and for me, his position is based on attracting Bojan, Arnie, Shaq, Afelay, Johnson etc on a small and getting them to gel as a team - ah, the prospect
