Begovic could be but I think Nzonzi needs another season with us to really show the top sides how capable he is of controlling a game, if he wants the move that he thinks he deserves. Plus, he would get guaranteed games, rather than potentially sitting on the bench week in, week out and getting the odd cup game here and there to establish himself at a bigger club. On top of that, that would allow us to take some time to identify an able replacement, and ease them into the picture over the course of the season with an eye on the season after, rather than taking a gamble and paying through the nose for someone who would be chucked straight into the deep end. If he stays for another season, everybody wins in my opinion - he plays well, he gets his move - we get him for another season, and we can ensure we have the right replacement ready to take over if he goes. Spot on.

Well it seems that Sparky has done his best to keep Begovic and Nzonzi but both their departures seem imminent. Both are huge losses and have been key to our success. Real challenge for him next season. Just need a few good signings to put us in a great position next season. I'm not overly confident about Butland but Hughes is, so that's good enough for me.

Massive summer ahead for sparky. But he's proven that he is capable. We need to get the nzonzi replacement spot on. Last year I thought he was capable of walking into any team in the premiership he was that good. Our whole team plays around him, how we replace him I'll never know.

I'm beginning to think that we are starting to see Hughes ruthless side, Huth's twitter faux pas, Begos refusal to sit on the bench and Nzonzi's whining dad are all being dealt with by shipping them out - or at least not negotiating too hard on new deals...on the one hand it can be seen to be working in that the clubs they are being linked with haven't done as well as us recently however there does seem to be a risk that we will be seen as not being able to hold on to our stars even when similar sized clubs come calling...its a really difficult balancing act I think

Brilliant move by PC to get him. Just hope MH can straighten N'Zonzi out and get him to tell his dad he wants to stay with us. Just had an idea, maybe PC can find a job for N'Zonzi senior. Contract negotiations but from the clubs side.

I think we'll have made plans for all potential outcomes and I trust Hughes to deliver.

In Hughes we trust mate.
He and his men can spot talent for peanuts , where the capped twat would just pay 5m+ on a Dean 'fuckin' Whitehead! Headless chicken nothing else.

If he could find another dembele, and zabaletta I would be very, very happy. I have a gut feeling he's already signed another Santa Cruz in Joselu.

Think his transfer dealing have been brilliant. The ones who have question marks over them , sidwell, bardsley, diontan cost next to nothing.

pretty sure there's only 1 of each You know exactly what I mean, although there is another moussa dembele. Didn't Santa Cruz knock in 20 odd goals for Blackburn over one season, go to a big club (in this case follow Sparky to City) for a very good price and become a flop then. If that's the case, im happy to have another in that mould (as long as Sparky doesn't eff off to a bigger club next summer)

Sidwell will have cost a small fortune in wages imo but it was always an odd one, we never really needed him.
Bardsley is just odd, I just don't get why we went for him and with such a long contract.
Johnny Tex is the one that frightens me the most. Unless he's gone massively downhill I can't see how anyone can think this bloke is a professional footballer.
On the whole though they've been excellent but he's going to have to pull a few rabbits out of the hat if/when Fonz and Bego leave.

My biggest fear is that Hughes will ditch us as he cannot get the players he wants to join.
At Man C he had incredible resources, at Fulham and QPR he had the London factor and even Blackburn had (in real terms) recently won the league title.
Cannot help but feel that some of these deals are crucial for that reason also.

Trusting Hughes to settle N zonzi down .A few selected words and a slap.Pay rise.A letter of recommendation to Deschamps and tell him we are building the team around him, which we are, since he in the middle.A cuddle and an i love you and i reckon N zonzi will be happy enough.
