BBC saying Shaq is ill?
Team news West Ham v Stoke (15:00 GMT) Posted at 14:12 No Xherdan Shaqiri for Stoke, who are at West Ham. he is ill, apparently. That's a blow for the Potters as he has looked very much the part of late.

I think it is sensible to rest Shaq and his hamstring with the heavy Christmas program coming up. Hopefully he'll be fit for Palace, Man Utd and Everton.

Still a strong side without Shaqiri. VGinkel looked good in his sub, and with Cameron and Whelan in together our midfield still looks good. As always, scoring first would be great.

Yes, cold and wet/slippy too much risk of over-tightening/stretching a hamstring; best to wrap him for Christmas till he is 100%. Mark Bowen on Talksport saying Shaq has probably played a couple of games with tight hamstrings, had a scan in the week which indicated a slight tear. "If it had been a Cup Final he could have played, but we've still got plenty of game changers on the pitch so bearing in mind the Xmas schedule we've decided to give him a rest. He'll be fit for Palace.'

Sentinel says calf strain. Who will play on right? Affaley? I would have thought so. Be a shame to move Arnie across when he's built up such a good partnership with Pieters. We may well see the front 3 rotate at various points in the game.

West Ham have got Tomkins at RB - big centre half. Arnie should have a field day that sees us win

West Ham have got Tomkins at RB - big centre half. Arnie should have a field day that sees us win He did well there last week against Manure. I think Arnie and Eric could make it very difficult for him. Brave decision to plan van Ginkel over Walters. Could be his last chance to impress but also could be his best position slightly further forward. I hope it pays off. Goaaarrrrn Stoke
