West Ham played well at The Shit last week. Should have won. If we play like last week then of course we should win (& if we take our shotting boots then we could bag a hatful). However we are not going to hit the hights every game so this game could be tricky. Even with the injuries they look a solid balanced side, alebit a duller one than with their stars playing. Despite their injury list, looking at hammered 's team sheet they're still able to put up a strong XI. It will be a good game I reckon and hopefully we'll rediscover our pre-Sunderland away form. Hopefully we'll continue our post-Sunderland form.

Hughes should really do the right thing here to even it up a bit by giving the weekend off to Shawcross, Afellay, Bojan, Shaqiri and Arnautovic. Early in the season I wouldn't have put it past him because he put some pretty strange line ups out but I think he's learnt his lesson.

I am trying hard but, I cant rmemembr the last time I was so excited about our team - home or away, we can beat anybody now its just about turning up consistently master that - and we can be top 6 positively aching for saturday I'm with you - been buzzing all week. I know there will be disappointments. Many disappointments. But I also know with the quality in this team we will produce some stunning football. It's an absolute joy to be a Stokie these days.

Just had lunch with a West Ham fan and after watching us last week he expects them to get battered. He couldn't believe how good we were to watch and Shaqiri terrifies him with all of their best players out.

I would keep the same formation. We cant really drop anyone from the team that beat Man City. Great perfomance tactics spot on. More of the same please well done Mark Hughes.

Who could you possibly leave out after that performance? Hughsey would be mad not to roll with it again, but thats my thinking not the managers!

I can't see why he would change it. West Ham have a few key players out although their replacements aren't too bad. A perfect game I think to try out the new formation away from home.

I would be very surprised if MH would change the team after the performance against ManCity. Please do it again! --- -------Cameron-----Whelan------------
Shaqiri----------Afellay---------Arnautovic

This. If Shaq is injured then I'd play Diouf in his place and to cut in to the box but surely we must persist with Bojan playing the false number nine.

Hopefully we'll continue our post-Sunderland form. Well, yes, although I think we might need to temper expectations ever so slightly. It will be a very different game today and I think it will be a lot tougher than some seem to be expecting. Just last season we played one of the best games I'd seen Stoke play in the Prem against Arsenal at home and that was quickly followed by one of the most dire performances I'd seen us play away to Palace. Inconsistency still plagues us however should we reproduce the form we showed last week on a more regular basis then we'll have made one huge step forward. The pragmatist in me says a 1-0 win will be a perfect job of consolidating our superb win last week and banish the Stadium of Light 'performance'. Even a draw would be a 'good result' considering we're playing away at one of our direct competitors for a Top 8 finish. The other side of me just wants us to go and try and smash 'em 5-2

Can we really see a second heavenly night at the ball in succession? The heart pleads YES but the brain steps back and reminds me that this is Stoke City FC we are talking about. Gooaaarn lads.

I'm looking out of my office/den window here in North Yorkshire and it's snowing/sleet.
If the weather isn't too good in London (cold/wet/heavy pitch) I suspect MH might rest Shaqiri (hamstring) and/or Bojan and keep them fresh for another day and give Diouf and/or Walters a run out.

I know it's a predictable thing to say but all this optimism and high expectation is doing my head in - it's going to be a miserable Sat afternoon (feel better for that).

Our goal difference is -1 so a win would put us in positive territory (0 is positive)
