Payet, Moses and Lanzini all out Add Sakho, Valencia plus a non scoring dynamically challenged Carroll to the list along with inconsistent form and us not winning since October for a full house of opportunity.

This is the kind of game that historically We fuck up and give a shocking performance and lose (just after a performance like Saturday)
I hope thats not the case this time and we dish out another hiding! I know people have said it a lot but someone WILL get a good smashing and concede 5 or 6 against us soon...... It's coming
Nobody deserves to be dropped for this one but I'm not sure the formation will stay as it was! As Sparky said post match, different plans and different formations for different teams! Being away from home we may set up slightly different but with Moses and Payet out we can be a little more adventurous as their counter attack will be a little less dangerous!
The long and the short of if is, Hughes has earned hi trust no matter what he decides to go with, and I will be happy and optimistic no matter what team he puts out!

What was the bottom line for Hughesy going with Saturday's formation? Did he say specifically?
Was it Man City's high line and seeing what Liverpool did to them with the same tactic?
Or, did he just fancy having a right go by throwing caution to the wind and using his 'fantasy XI' for want of a better phrase?
Not sure whether the same approach would work everywhere but with the confidence and class positively oozing from the players you'd have to think he'll give it another go at West Ham.
Bring it on - can't wait...

Such things normally see Stoke roll into town and lie down to have our bellies tickled. I'd have fancied our chances more if you were still playing as well as you were earlier in the season.

Nailed on 3 points for you then mate. As well as we played on Saturday, Charity SCFC1863 won't have abandoned its principles

On the basis of the Man City performance we may need to start resting a few players for future Champions League matches =)
I was always taught "dunner fix it if it inner broke"

Butland Johnson - Shawcross - Wolly - Pieters Whelan Cameron - van Ginkel Shaq - Bojan - Arnie

Same Team -
------------ Butland ---------------
Glen ---- Ryan -- Wolly --- Pieters
- Geoff --- Whelan --- Affelay --
Shaqiri ---- Bojan ----- Arnautovic
If West Ham are physically bullying us in midfield, then Adam on for Affelay & Diouf on for Bojan. And if we need to defend a one goal lead - Walters on for Shaqiri. Otherwise lineup is perfect against a team like West Ham. We'll have to be very good at defending set pieces, though.

I cannot see how in the world we can change the team after Saturday. That team is set up to play best either away from home or at home when the big boys come and try to dictate play. We may struggle with it against teams who come to the Brit to park the bus, but that argument is for another day. For now, same XI to hit them on the break and show the watching Moses what he's missing.

It'll be ironic if Andy Carroll turns out to be their only fit forward.

For me no change of players {if fit}or formation I am 56 and I have to say that first half was one of the best stoke performance I have seen, the second half was not bad either No change. I have you by 4 years, IMO the best display I've seen since we thrashed Arsenal 5-0 in the year they won the double. Can't wait for Saturday! (and February!)

My first trip to West Ham. Shaqiri will score, I guarantee you. Have fun. It's a great old fashioned stadium. Just like he Vic was. I'm glad I was able to last year.

We'll be expected to win this. So we'll lose. Didn't take you long to revert to typical Stoke attitude. Actually, I was thinking the same but decided to behave!

He must have finally read the Oatcake, saw he was not alone and figured it was OK to give it a try. Hopefully he won't do anything daft like trying something else. Only slight concern I have is you have to be living on Mars to have not seen that display against Man C, which gives them a week to prepare.

Everyone is still glowing following our wonderful performance on Saturday and everyone is looking forward to the West Ham game hoping we can continue where we left off.
But this is Stoke and it wouldn't surprise anyone if we were woeful on Saturday and the wonderful positivity that's been around our club and on this MB over the last few days will disappear in an instant.

That's the Stoke way mate. Raise our game against the top sides and lower our game against the crap sides. I went to Sunderland followed by the Sheff Wed game and then Man City - can't work it out haha

We have a relatively decent record down there and I don't expect that to change on Saturday. We'd do well to get anywhere near the sort of levels displayed against Man City but I think that sort of performance can only spur us on.

Ride the buzz from last weekend as long as possible before we revert to type! We played Man City off the pitch with liquid football.

With Payet, Moses, Lanzini, Valencia and Sakho all missing for them (pretty much their entire attack!), we've no excuses if we don't get something.

West Ham will be interesting to say the least a lot of positives heading into the game. We have just had possibly our best performance in the premier league. We have a decent (ish) record at their place. Our away form is much improved this year only conceding 2 goals in as many months. They have Moses, Lanzini and Payet out and have only scored 3 in their last 4 since Payet got injured they'd scored 9 in their previous 4 before this so shows how much they miss him. After us they have some winnable games in villa, Swansea and Southampton whilst we have a trickier run in palace Everton and United - not that this has an impact of course but we should be aiming to seize on a decent opportunity to take 3 points. Like I said lots of positives however being a stoke fan I know our history only too well we always come crashing after the highest of highs and for that reason I expect a terrible performance with Arnie, Bojan and shaq all to break their legs and a heavy defeat. It's just how we role
