I was there 4 years ago and I think we payed just over a euro for a pint but there were places that were more expensive . Prague isn't as cheap as it used to be because of all the stag parties etc

Don't want go a war zone but want cheap booze. That's the problem. Latvia is a bit close to Russia and places like Budapest and Bucharest might be fucking swarming by then. Prague was a good idea, but we've all been before.

Dublin isn't too expensive if you don't spend all your time on Temple Bar.
There are plenty of pubs a bit further out that average about €4.70 a pint, and these will have more locals rather than wall to wall tourists- personally I enjoyed these more than the pubs on Temple Bar, which can get chock full and about €6.70 a pint.
Having said that, we did find a nightclub there that was only €5 a pint on Saturday night...

Belfast is worth considering. Very similar kind of atmosphere to Dublin but without the feeling of being ripped off for every pint. I've been there many times. Lovely city, good nightlife. Cheap flights there with EasyJet or Flybe. Would recommend Flybe if you want to get straight into the action as they fly to Belfast City airport, which is 10 mins away from the town centre on a bus. EasyJet fly to Belfast International which is about a 40 mins bus journey to town. www.stagweb.co.uk/stag-weekends/belfast.asp

Budapest was good when we went there for a stag weekend What's that like then mate? Airport near the city if we go Ryan air? yes it was, and the best man had ordered a limousine to take us to the hotel complete with stripper (blacked out windows) you can hire a guide from www.budapestpissup.com and there's the normal stripper joints etc. but as this was a 2nd time wedding and all a bit mature we opted for a cruise on the Danube with lunch, good food in the evening and local music places. Only thing to be wary of is nightclub exit fees, always ask before going in when it's free, as they demand an exit fee. Scenery was great.

Good looking women, but I'm not sure whether it would be the best stag venue

Budapest isn't all it's cracked up to be, it's cheap but I think it's pretty underwhelming having been the past two summers. The Hungarians can be very, very unfriendly.
Did a lot of Europe on the trains in the summer, Berlin is class but not really for a stag do. Munich is alright but there are better places, it reminds me of Manchester too much. Prague is excellent, decent clubs that you can find with a bit of research and cheap food and beer. If you avoid the old town you can get a beer for 80p-£1.50 but even so, I watched Liverpool vs Bournemouth on a Monday night in a bar called Dubliners in the Old Town and that was still £3 for a Guinness. Just don't do all the typical stag do shit, like really lame t shirts. They'll see you coming a mile off and you'll end up having a terrible time. It's a lovely place as well and I can give you details off the hostel I stayed in, it was unbelievable more like a hotel with an indoor pool and all sorts at only £8 a night.
If you're feeling adventurous a combination of Warsaw/Kraków would be my choice. You can get a super cheap train between the two cities that takes a couple of hours. Warsaw is unbelievably nice, so up and coming and clean. Beer is consistently cheap even in the most swanky places. I watched our first game of the season in a very nice bar, was there all day had about 8 pints and a meal and spent about £25! Kraków is so much nicer than I expected as well and you can have a right good knees up there but again just don't do the whole stag do shit because you'll have an empty wallet. Polish women are unbelievable as well, 9 out of 10 of them are fit.
Barcelona is class I'm not sure what it would be like for a stag do though, I went to specific clubs for specific music that I wanted to see. Got the beach though and the city life so a bit of everything.
Dublin is outstanding. You simply cannot have a bad time there. Me and my mates went for St. Patrick's this year and have booked up for next March as well. Literally the most fun I have had on the piss in my life I think. It's not that expensive, once you take into consideration the exchange rate it's not that different from London.
Don't go to Amsterdam!

Have a look into it but I would recommend doing both Warsaw and Kraków, I think the train was £20 at most and took two hours, free drinks as well on the train. Perhaps 1 night in Warsaw and 2 in Kraków. Would certainly break the trip up a bit and both are different cities/experiences but equally as good.

Eastern Europe is a good call, I've always had a good time in Riga and Talinn, avoid france and italy, they just look bemused when 20 drinkers hit their streets. Make sure he enjoys the stag do as once you're married the fun is over....

Edinburgh, believe it or not, has a great mix of the fun day time stuff (go carts etc) and the essential night time debauchery.

Budapest was good, depends what you want, we did the train from Budapest to Brno for a night and then the train to prague for a couple of nights, Prague was good if as you say you get off the main tourist bits, we went off to a shooting range about 30km away, 10 different guns in the package then an uzi at the end for an extra 10 euros
