Charlie is doing an excellent job for us BUT N'Zonzi was better and you'd think a similar player would improve us right now. Diouf and Jon do a very good job up front BUT think what we'd be like with a truly natural finisher to tuck away the chances we keep creating. Those two are the key positions really and adding to the squad in one or both of those positions could see us aiming for the stars. |

Collymore's analysis was off beam and based on watching us against Chelsea in the League game.
We sat deep to restrict the movement of Willian, Hazard and Costa. It worked, and we sucker punched them.
Stan hadn't seen us against Southampton.
I think he was on a bit of a downer because of Villa.
He was gushing about our defence, "proper footballers and prepared to put their bodies on the line... Jack pushing for England's number one..etc.."
But talked of a 'disconnect' between defence and attack.
He was dismissive of Whelan and Adam's improving transitional play and failed to acknowledge our fantastic flank attacking.
He was critical of Bojan and suggested we switch to a 4-3-3 with a Delli Ali-type in midfield.
A couple of tweets from Stoke fans said we were missing N'Zonzi.
And it re-inforced what he was saying. Saggars barged in and said we should buy a Delli Ali in the window.
I thought it missed the point, was a bit lazy and ignored our continuing improvement, better movement, returning players etc. etc.
There will be a tipping point at which all this potential {energy} is converted into goals.

Hmmm...Actually, Charlie's doing OK (not excellent) but he is the best avaiable. Diouf has hardly played in the recent up-turn in form and Walters has only scored two all season. That does not translate to "a very good job". For some reason Hughes has gone cold on Diouf, so Walters is the best available CF? |

His Mother died in tragic circumstances, he picked up an injury and he's been travelling a long way for internationals, it's called top class managing. He'll be back in the side very soon I have no doubt. |

All the pieces are there except the goals. However, you get the feeling we could seriously smash someone one day. Maybe this weekend? |

All the pieces are there except the goals. However, you get the feeling we could seriously smash someone one day. Maybe this weekend? Southampton very nearly got absolutely whupped in their own backyard. Another team won't be as lucky as to lose 1:0 to us before long. |
