Yeah but I do. Yesterday for instance highlighted was Wolly being a tit and our chances being missed. Because they were the obvious issues. But nah, I was wrong. You and others backed theirselves so far into a corner over Wollscheid you still can't bring yourself to give him the praise any sane or reasonable Stoke fan agrees he deserves. Instead you look for every negative in his performance to try and justify it, it's pathetic yet amusing. But then goals conceded isn't a good barometer of a decent defence in Bayern's world apparently, so all the recent clean sheets Wollscheid has been involved in are all irrelevant......

Smelling has been a flash in the pan after several years of mediocrity. Stones, whilst decent, didn't warrant the fervour in the summer. Shawcross has superbly captained the club year on year and been a rock solid defender to boot, continuing to have the world's best strikers in his arse pocket. The less said about Cahill and Jagielka the better. Smalling looks better each week to be fair credit where it's due. If the 4 centre halves for the Euros were Stones, Smalling, Shawcross and Cahill all bases are covered.....

I've praised though haven't I? The answer to that is yes, go and see that thread. You didn't have to go and look and as ever that's the issue. It was rank bad defending, it was lazy and he switched off and it should have cost us the 3 points (along with the terrible finishing) thank God it didn't. That I believe is fair? Because well it was all of the above. When defenders make mistakes like he does then yeah but he has improved massively since Ryan has come back (before that he still looked dodgy imo). And that as I said in the thread where apparently I didn't praise him is very good because they looked like they'd never reach that point last season. And credit to him. He just needs to concentrate for the 90 now and stop lazy incidents like yesterday because they could cost us and I actually do think he's better than that if he puts his mind to it!

Why? I get more right than wrong. I'm not sure, I'm conscious I used to disagree with lots of your views but in the last year or so I find myself agreeing with you a lot. I'm pretty sure that means something, I just don't have a goddam clue quite what! You've stopped taking the Aricept

He switches off far too often and that's the point. It's a weakness in his game. Others don't have that weakness. That yesterday actually reminded me of me. Waiting for the ball to come to you whilst others are more alert. Utter shit!

The Watford second goal being a case in point. Wilson makes a massive fuck up but Wolly should still stop it, his decision making there was just awful. It's not nit picking, they are obvious big mistakes that are easily cut out.

You're very wrong when you get on the case of players who don't really deserve it. Wolly was superb yesterday, yet you focus on the negative? Your criticism of Cameron is usually wide of the mark. Afellay the same. Also your over reaction to N'Zonzi departing was ridiculous.

Second one he obviously had that in his mind and tried to hold his ground to cover the blind side runner. He's been superb since coming back in the side as well you know!

The first one is harsh but it was a mistake by him but slips happen. The second isn't. He had to go across and stop the immediate danger, that was just piss poor defending. If the ball ends up to the near side runner then well done the attacker but the defender there has to defend. He chose to be passive and allow an attacker a free shot at goal, it was poor. I think he has since Ryan came back but even before in the home games at least he still looked lost. But he's got better of that there is no doubt, he just needs to improve his decision making and wake up a bit.

I just know neither should be semi regular Premier League centre backs. Do we need both of them? Lots of people will say yes, I don't think we do.

Assuming we were to sell one of our 5 centre backs, (I'm not including Teixiera because I don't think there would be any reason to think twice about selling him,) Wilson would surely be the one to go. His contract is running out and he's only seen action this season when we've been down to two available centre backs.

The 1st Wilson should have shown the player the byline, Wooly expected that and was starting to sweep round when Wilson decided to cover the Byline and leave room for the player come across our area, this resulted in Wooly's slip because he'd committed to covering Wilson. The mistake there was Wilson's, and them sort of mistakes become fewer the longer partnerships are built up as players understand each other better and learn people's strengths/weaknesses (Yes professional footballers have weaknesses). The 2nd he was played into no mans land by Wilson, he had a split second decision to make, you think he should have closed the man down leaving the runner free to be put in with the right ball, I think he did the right thing allowing the player some space, I'd rather a player have a pot shot from outside the area than someone be in 1 on 1 with the keeper. It's not poor defending, it's choices that have to be made in split seconds. Wilson's was bad defending.
