Trying hard to not gloat but after 13 games and only 5 points has there been a worse start from any PL team in recent years?? Its looking pretty bad for them - I know Sunderland & Leicester put in great runs to get out of trouble in the past few seasons but this is going to take something really special to rescue things for them.
Doesn't seem so long since Villa were the flagship of the midlands and now looking like in the doldrums with Birmingham, Wolves and Coventry.

Wouldn't it be amazing if the 3 clubs to be relegated were Villa, Sunderland, and Newcastle, with the huge supporter bases

Question; very possible at least 2 of those will be in the final three to go...but how would they fare in the championship?
I know a Villa fan who would genuinely welcome relegation; sees it as a chance to strip away dead wood and rebuild, he says it would be better to go to games and enjoy that winning feeling again. He thinks it needs real root & branch surgery and would be content with a top 10/maybe paly off place first season - he wouldn't expect automatic promotion straight off and isn't sure if he would welcome it so soon such is the rebuild he feels is needed.

If Carlsberg did relegations It would be Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal going down. Id put Chelsea in in place of Liverpool, not that Ive any love for the scallies but it would just be worth it for them to be on a par with QPR!

Not for me. I can remember a Middlesbrough fan saying a lot of Boro fans would prefer to see their team winning regularly in the Championship, rather than regularly getting beaten in the Prem. Personally I would never want to see my team relegated, no matter how bad results were.

The worrying thing for Villa is normally when a new manager comes in you have a burst of energy and they haven't in fact it looks like they've got worse.

I think QPR only had 4pts under LMH
Also, Sunderland 5pts in 2005 Sheff Weds 5pts in 1999 ManC 5pts in 1995 Swindon 5pts in 1993 Everton 4pts in 1994

Correct mate i'd sooner be in a relegation fight in the prem than like Wigan winning the FA cup (I'd love us to win that) but then 2 successive relegations? Not for me!

I suspect many Villa fans would welcome that chance as it stands

Can't remember who they played on the last game of the season when they got relegated I just remember the tango man moaning a about a perfectly good dodgy goal being allowed by a player who seemed to take out their keeper and score! Like I say I don't remember.

They could also be another Leeds or Sheff Wed- they're a dying club at the minute.
