Today was a reminder of how hard that fucker can be. When he got sent off for PSV after a bullshit dive over a good tackle he kicked the wall then punched through a glass cabinet.. www.liveleak.com/view?i=3e4_1359051088that blood smear on the glass was apparently a result of this: He is one hard bastard who seems right at home here, and he showed as much today. Gooarrn Erik! Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans that's rank! I've not seen a gash like that since... Well never mind.

It's strange, after I read about 'glass-gate' I thought Pieters was going to be some kind of wild man but in fact he is the consummate professional, astonishing commitment and always respectful of the fans. Oh and it's 'Sir Erik Pieters' to me

Erik and Arnie are one hell of a force down the left, they know each others game so week. I don't think I'd swap them as a pair for anyone in the league.

He was a brave, brave man, who's that?
No, it's not Basil De Farmer, the man in shining armour, it's Erik Pieters.
Every fucking time he headed the ball I winced.
Stoke hero Erik!

Oh and it's 'Sir Erik Pieters' to me after doing that to your arm once, you probably learn pretty quick not to repeat it However, I like our defence having one mental bastard, and his first full blooded header, soon after he came back on today puts him in that category. If Pejic or Smith dont write an article saying that first header, putting his face in danger again.. if it didnt give them a semi well.. they're lying

Great performance by Eric. Such a courageous effort to stay on the whole game with a badly broken nose. Hope he recovers in the next two weeks.
Top guy!

What a comparison between all the Stoke players, epitomised by Pieters, getting up and getting on with it, and the Chelsea pussies lying on the ground all afternoon

Pieters is one of the rare players I've never moaned about since he came here, along with Shawcross too.

Top top player, and I seem to remember he was slated several times over the last two seasons. We desperately need a song for him!

After his gutsy and brilliant display he topped it up by staying last on the pitch to applaud the fans. A true Stoke great in the making. He is another Stokie through and through who will bust a gut for SCFC ... and we are lucky to have quite a few of them in the current squad! .... one Erik Pieters ... there's only one Erik Pieters, one Erik Pieters! ... there's only one Erik Pieters!!!.....

Anyone know if he is being fitted with a mask for the next few games?

Great effort by Erik at the weekend and the recall to a Dutch squad seemingly lacking the fighting qualities he possesses in spades is long overdue!

The Dutch footie fans I was speaking to didn't seem to rate him when we first signed him. But, then, they were Ajax fans, and they probably diss all players from any other club.
