I'm a complete techno failure but bought a Firestick for £25 on Black Friday, sat with my laptop on uTube and installed Kodi and God knows which addons and have watched all current films, Champions league and numerous other sports - Ive even set Kodi as my home page from uTube videos! I love it! It ain't perfect but after the initial outlay, it's free viewing so (imo) ya conna go wrong. £50 isn't too bad if it's a loaded and time and know how is an issue.

Do you need a really good BBand speed for this.....as may look into this after I sort out my Internet speed. Currently have Sky BB and speed is rubbish I've downloaded Kodi onto my tablet & have had no problems so far. I have Sky broadband but I live very close to the exchange box so my broadband speed is very good. Does this app allow the person who lets say" puts app on their smart tv" to watch every channel for free?". Is it easy to do? I have a mate whos interested and im not technical minded. So will he find it easy or will i need help

If you're willing to sit down for an hour at best and learn how to do it, there's really nothing to it once you've uploaded one or two addons. Then you can tailor your own build to how you like it.

I've tried a couple of different ways to watch TV, first I got an Openbox then a Fire stick.
A fully loaded Openbox is very easy to use it needs a satellite dish and internet connection and then it's quite simple very much like watching Sky.
Pro. Just like watching sky. Cons. Limited to TV rather than the net streaming.
The fire stick once Kodi is loaded is also easy to use, it does give more options than an openbox but it is dependant on your broadband speed to get the best out of it. There are all the latest movies etc but you are dependant on finding the best stream. Hit and miss with somethings. Pros. More options to watch. Cons. You have to search for a stream and is dependant on your broadband speed to avoid buffering.
I have Virgin 152 meg and still got buffering on the Firestick. No such issues with Openbox.

Raspberry Pi 2 is still the bollocks imo. It has its problems (difficulty curve is up on the Fire Stick and probably OpenBox), but when it works, it trounces the competition.

And its not just a Kodi whore. Going rate for a Fire Stick with Kodi installed is £40 but don't forget to regularly clear the cache. To watch Kodi on your TV with a Fire Stick you will need a good speed WiFi or it will be forever stuttering unless you have a Pi2 that's wired to your broadband. Gouranga.

Bought one of these for $25 here in the US and the Mrs loaded Kodi in about 20 minutes watching a video from youtube. Use it daily mainly for straming movies for the kids.
