I've just tried to pick up latest football news for the weekend, and as always found it almost impossible to read with text jumping up and down or covered over due to adverts. An absolute pain. Are the people at the Sentinel totally inane? I appreciate they need adverts to fund the site but it's just a joke trying to read anything.

Not this again..... Firefox, adblock, sorted. Depends what device you're using. On a windows pc install adblock and it's fine whatever browser you use. On android adblock is no longer in the play store and it's a nightmare, adverts popping up everywhere. You can sideload adblock but I didn't have much success with it so gave up Edit that, adblock plus is now under another name in the play store but it's now a browser play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.adblockplus.browser&hl=en_GB

As some of the guys have said try adlock plus, can't believe the difference since using it.

I wrote to them over 12 months ago about this and they wrote back to me saying I'd written to the wrong department. I wrote back and asked then which email address I should write too and I never heard back.
Not used the site since. .customer service at its very best, not!!!!

Thanks for the advice guys. I've just loaded adblock plus on Chrome (using Windows 10) and now I have no problems. It removes those annoying ads from the beginning of YOUtube videos as well. Check out a footie streaming site now you have it installed, you will love it!

We have same problem down here with Plymouth Evening Herald website. I complained but their answer was that as they were part of the Mail newspaper group they had no control over advertisements which were administered centrally. They advised Adblock for my iPad and it does work. I found that you do need to disable it sometimes to use some social media websites and some online games. This is a one switch operation in settings so very easy to do.

I usually watch matches via Kodi - SortsDevil and connect to my TV, which is usually OK if I can pick up a thread, which sometimes I can't, so I resort to one of the streams someone has kindly posted on here.

Just added adblock. Went direct to sentinel and it blocked 27 ads on the first page alone.
Next serious test will be the streaming sites on Saturday.

Most are OK but some now are asking you to disable adblock to enable you to make it full screen if you get this move on and find one that does not ask you to turn it off.

I don’t understand their logic, the more adds they have, the slower the site is, the less people visit it, the less advertisers will want to pay to use it.

They're always trying to sell online advertising space to me. A couple of weeks ago when I responded to say "Your advertising is shit, horribly intrusive and puts people off using the site" their reps response was "yeah we know"

Dreadful website.
Completely counter productive.
The owners need to understand this.
A joke.

Just get the Firefox mobile browser, which I've found to be the best mobile browser by a country mile. It's also the only one that allows you to install adblock plus, which does exactly the same job on your phone as it does on your desktop.

The silver lining here is that if you can't access the website, you won't be subjected to the moronic diatribes of that odious imbecile fromafar, who I'm convinced posts in the comments section under the name Penkhullranger.

I've tried to read articles before but I always give up and find the whole experience rather frustrating.
Not tried it for a while now and don't bother clicking on any Sentinel links and haven't bought the paper for years now.
Remember the good old days ? Two Sentinels a day midweek and the Saturday Green Un, which was on sale with that's days match report faster than I could finish my first post match pint !

I still buy the Sentinel every day when I'm back, if I lived there I'd have it delivered, it's like some weird comfort blanket for me :D It might be a pile of shit but it's our pile of shit :) I actually think it's (the paper edition) got a bit better over the last couple of years. Always remember when I was a kid my Dad saying nearly every night 'bugger all in this, all bloody adverts' :D
