Glenda turned up today not Glenn. Thought he was poor.

Nothing wrong with Glenn and Charlie today. Charlie Adam? Didn't realise he was playing. Where were you watching, loads of passes went to and from him?

Whelan is the last person I worry about on this squad, he's rock solid. He's a better person than my mum too.

Glenda turned up today not Glenn. Thought he was poor. I agree with the opening post. Well we all see games different, Whelan is normally a reliable steady Eddie, I thought today he was caught on the ball, overhitting passes, poor selection of passes and generally below his normal standard. Best thing he did all day was bollock Arnie in the second half which gave him a much needed kick up the arse!

Can't afford to rest him; he's the captain. He can rest in the Summer...oh, hang on!

Charlie Adam? Didn't realise he was playing. Where were you watching, loads of passes went to and from him? I was watching from the stand. Charlie did his usual collection of fouls and yes a few passes, but any player on a football pitch for over 90minutes will make a few passes but none of them stood out as special or significant. He was poor today, Whelan sound as usual.

Thought Glenn played too many passes backwards today when there were options going forwards that were better.
Still a big fan of his and always have been, when so many were knocking him because they couldn't see the good work he does for the team.

Whelan has improved so much under Hughesie. A much better player. To such an extent I do not want him to pick up a fifth card until the New Year! We can not afford to be without him!
He was the best player in midfield without a doubt today!

Glenn was poor yesterday. He needlessly gave the ball away, atleast 8-10 times. And at the risk of being too cynical, I really feel that Whelan offers very little when we do have possession.

Whelan was outstanding today. Shame about everybody else, but at least we have one positive from today. I wish all of our players were Glenn Whelan. He definitely ate his Whelos this morning! Also on a side note... Glenn's hair looked a little longer on the sides today. any idea if he's changed from a number 2 to a number 3? what's Glenn Whelans shoe size

Charlie Adam? Didn't realise he was playing. Where were you watching, loads of passes went to and from him? Yup, saw that - did nothing of value with said passes.

Whelan does what he's on the pitch to do extremely well, he has the odd naff game and stray pass but I'm happy to have him start every week.

How the fuck could Whelan or Adam dictate the game when we had 10 fucking men for most of it.

We were ok tonight but it was a bit too close to call for my liking.
I was very nervous at times.
But then Glenn Whelan came on and he completely changed the game.
As soon as he stepped on the pitch we looked like a completely different side to the anxious looking bunch we had been for the first 88 minutes.
It is amazing how one man can make such a difference.
Can't wait to see him back in action from the start on Saturday!

He got a good reception from the traveling owls. It's an absolute disgrace that our supporters don't treat him this way. Every week I'm left applauding and chanting on my own. I can only imagine how upset it must make him. He may be superhuman, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings.

Said it a while ago and got shot down but....in his current form (which is a bit misleading because he's been brilliant for yonks)....Whelan would be a contender to start for any club in the league.
If Fernandodinho are good enough for Citeh then Glenn is comfortably so. He was head and shoulders above them yesterday (as was Geoff).

A very underrated player because he plays the simple game. Takes the simple pass, covers the right spaces etc. His hunger to win every challenge is there to see if you look for it though He has been brilliant and has played a vital part for seasons, but this season is clearly Glen's best after he came to Stoke! Only one booking away from a suspension though!
