Sorry Mr. Freeex only just noticed this ... it really is encouraging to realise somebody is giving it such a close listen - many thanks.
Will get that play list up at some point in the week whilst I'm out walking the dog - nice one.

But that might be by Fluke. Pre match giddiness.

I saw the name Paul Spencer in the private Facebook group and knew there was an Oatcake poster who went by that name. This confirms the link. Enjoyed your show a lot, from a fellow 6 Towns presenter

The Global Comms remix of Dusky's "Skin Deep" is amazing. I got that on day of release and the dub is equally as good.

Absolutely ... it was a struggle deciding which one to play, both (as you say) very, very good.

...... bit of a new early saturday evening ritual. Post match food interlude soundtracked by the Pharmacy. Disappointed from the tracklist that it isn't a bit more Goth. Nice to see some Global Communications involved. Been getting jiggy to Ellen Alien at the Boiler Room this week.

It's a bit old now (2013, I think) but try and download this Apparat Boiler Room gig on Soundcloud if you can. Here's the gig on YouTube. It's an amazing set!!

Liking Chance the Rapper and there's a brilliant passage of play when Appleblim kicks in. Good stuff.
I like the Apparat, there's something Konny Plank etc about the way the Berliners continue to approach music. Even shows in the shades of techno. Love the skittering beats and spaciousness of Ellen Alien in Ibiza at the Boiler Room. Got the Micronauts vibe to it. Get funky get down,if you like.
Good stuff and obscure as heck, which helps.

Thanks for the listen Mr. Freeex and I really appreciate the comments - such a strong scene in Bristol at the moment, I know that both Appleblim and Kalyde have got some incredible stuff coming up.

With it being the bonfire burn up etc havn't really had chance to give this weeks show the attention it deserves, though I'm feeling a bit 'with it' because I've actually heard of Isolee and Roots Manuva. It's good to have the resource from 6Towns above.. I have skipped back to listen to Polynation, The Internet, Applebim etc again. Hope to have a proper blast later.

I'm not at all sure that I've got the format of the show right at the moment ... I'm seriously considering just going full on and banging it for the first hour this Friday and then introducing the more eclectic stuff later in the show, we'll see.
All feedback, is mucho appreciated.

All good for me Paul. Like the bits of bio/info/context you give the tunes. I think one of the hardest things is 'finding a voice' without sounding scripted/forced. You're getting that balance right. It's good to keep challenging yourself and thinking of new approaches. I've had some experience on the wheels of steel mesen but always a bit more eclectic. The music you are playing lends itself to you doing a mini-Boiler roomesque segment within your show. Let's see more of yr mixing/fade in/out dexterity. Personally I'd do that for half/three quarters of an hour in the second half, and then return with track details and a few slowies. The Soundcloud thing with the ongoing track names is really good, modern technology eh, it means you don't need to be so conscious of giving out track details etc. Bonfire night/late kick off knackered the routine this week but I've enjoyed post match Oatcaking whilst listening to the Pharmacy. You've introduced me to some cracking new/different stuff. Keep up the good werk.

Thanks for all that Mr. Freeex.
Unfortunately the studio is set up to play 3min pop songs, fade down, talk, queue up the next song and hit play and so on. Everything is on one channel. Whilst I'm broadcasting, I'm unable able to hear what I've got queued up on the second deck, it's a bit like trying to mix vinyl without headphones on, I'm having to write down all my cue points beforehand!
The answer is for me to take a second mixer to the studio and run my tunes through tractor on a lap top into the studio mixer but I'm not entirely sure how I would get the studio's ad's in, with that sort of set-up (although it's definitely achievable), or alternatively I could pre-record it at home - which I might very well do!
I thought I'd give it to the end of the year to see if there was enough interest to warrant taking it a step further.
Really, really appreciate the feedback, including any suggestions and/or criticisms.
Cheers

Many thanks Tom.
The release of the new Floating Points album gave me an opportunity that I wasn't going to miss, that being, being able to play (as you say) an absolute certified banger in Love Me Like This!
I have meddled with the format for this week, I can always revert back, if it isn't working.
Thanks so much for the feedback chap!
