133rd international cap for this evenings game v Germany Congratulations A gentleman and role model. I hope he stays on at the club after his playing days. I think he'd make a great coach. A gentleman and role model. You wouldn't think so if you'd have been with me and my grandchildren walking around the pitch before kick off against Bournemouth. I couldn't believe my ears when he burst out loud with a string four letter words as we and a whole class of young kiddies with their respective parents/grandparents, all because he'd kicked the bloody ball in the wrong direction. No need for it at all.

Wonderful night - both the Irish teams win (and the Krauts lose) and not only do the Jocks miss out, but in the cruelest of fashions to a 90th minute scrambled effort - triffic! I only truly learned to hate them properly when I realised how much they hate us!!! I live in Glasgow and really wanted the scots to get through.
This was unbelievably cruel, they have been waiting since 1998 to see their team in a major tournament.
You, along with many millions of others in England have bought into the tory media conspiracy, the Scots who voted yes don't hate the English, just the Tories, and rightly so. The referendum was not at all about anti-Englishness.
Yes they would be taking the piss if England failed, but the sort of awful circumstances in which Scotland were knocked out tonight, Poland score a fluke goal, Ireland get a flukey shit goal off a punt by the goalkeeper, it is typical when following Scotland.
I have lived in Glasgow. And yes, the blue half do express loyalty to the Queen, but I would suggest it is only to spite the green half. Having witnessed England be eliminated from two knockout tournaments in bars in Glasgow, there was much much rejoicing. In fairness, the main gripe the Scots I knew had was the biased coverage on the TV (itv especially). Bigging up England's chances of silverware and unrealistic optimism. And in fairness, they were right. ITV & BBC are shit. That said, they weren't too happy when I pointed out that the Scottish coverage of Scotland games was far more delusional given their propensity to losing to countries that didn't exist 20 years ago. PS. They didn't know how to react when we lost to Northern Ireland. I was expecting far more piss taking.

Think the difference is that the Irish don't gloat and rejoice about an England defeat. The Scots do. After England ..I want Wales to do well. Think it's because my Aunty had a caravan in Abergele. Don't talk arse, of course they do and so do the fucking Welsh. They are all as bad as each other. H Yes, but he does have an Aunty in Abergele who owns a caravan.

Of the home nations the Scots and Welsh take great delight in seeing an England defeat even to the point of supporting the opposition no matter who. They can both as the Scots say Get Tae Fuck!

No media conspiracy has done for me (I don't even live in England to be so influenced) - when I first moved to Bermuda from England (1999), I played in an ex-pat football team for several years heavy with jocks - they were my friends and team mates. When we first watched an England game together in the pub, though, I was shocked at the vitriol and hatred they expressed towards my country's team, the joy they expressed at our misfortune, the wholehearted support for any team that played us. I got to know how much they really did hate us. So, yes I have seen it at first hand on many occasions, and days like yesterday cannot help to raise a smile for me, as I think of the heartbreak caused to those same English haters!

Scotland have had 9 games to sort themselves out and qualify, stop blaming other teams as if it's their duty and obligation to get you through.do what every other bloody team does and actually get through on your own merit, not rely on other teams to qualify you by them slipping up. dipshits!

Just as I expected.
There is more joy in an Irish win on here than when our very own piss through our group undefeated.
Disgusting.

I suppose Poland will still consider themselves favourites.
A low scoring draw puts them through.
The comical goal Scotland conceded made it just a bit harder for Ireland.

A draw between Poland and Ireland and a defeat for Germany would put Ireland through as group winners along with Poland and Germany would be in the play offs .....Yes I know it's unlikely www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2015/1009/733529-irelands-euro-2016/

For me, the scots who voted to stay with England are selfish Tories and the ones that wanted to leave, despicable working class people that would rather look after themselves than stand together and have a chance of making this country better. Either way, get the chip of your shoulders and put some pants on
