That was fantastic. Heroic defending and sheer guts. Great to see SJW getting in their faces and keeping it in the corner at the end. The sub keeper did very well.

Wonderful night - both the Irish teams win (and the Krauts lose) and not only do the Jocks miss out, but in the cruelest of fashions to a 90th minute scrambled effort - triffic! I only truly learned to hate them properly when I realised how much they hate us!!!

This was unbelievably cruel, they have been waiting since 1998 to see their team in a major tournament.
You, along with many millions of others in England have bought into the tory media conspiracy, the Scots who voted yes don't hate the English, just the Tories, and rightly so. The referendum was not at all about anti-Englishness.
Yes they would be taking the piss if England failed, but the sort of awful circumstances in which Scotland were knocked out tonight, Poland score a fluke goal, Ireland get a flukey shit goal off a punt by the goalkeeper, it is typical when following Scotland.

Heroic result for Ireland. Yes, pity Scotland hadn't held on for the win against Poland as a draw with Poland on Sunday would have been enough if they had or is it head to head that decides? Still, fingers crossed for another heroic win. And well done to the Northern Irish as well.

Think the difference is that the Irish don't gloat and rejoice about an England defeat. The Scots do. After England ..I want Wales to do well. Think it's because my Aunty had a caravan in Abergele.

Still, fingers crossed for another heroic win. And well done to the Northern Irish as well. It goes on head to head so with both teams on 18 points a 2-2 draw will mean Ireland will qualify as they drew 1-1 with Poland in Dublin. Unless I'm misunderstanding the rules.

You are right about them taking the piss if England had failed. For that reason I'm glad they are not going through - and I want all the other home nations + the Republic to qualify.
