Those empty seats you see are probably season ticket holders who didn't make it for whatever reason That's often the case. Is there a system for people to let the T/O know in advance if they aren't going and the seats be made available for resale? This season I've regularly seen blocks of 2 and 3 seats together left vacant. They would go like hot cakes. If my mate can't use his ST at Spurs because of work the club offer an online buy-back facility whereby the seat is re-sold and he gets a pro-rata refund on his credit card. We might see something similar by 2025...

answered your own OP there mate see Foster, if you'd just held off for another 30 mins worth of googling time you wouldn't have needed this thread you muppet Yeah, in the last 6 months we've seen an increase in SCFC page likes of more than 20%. Local UK based fans only represent 12-13% of the those that like the page too. To be fair, our likes total is pretty pathetic. Villa have over 2m. Though over the past 6 months we have added 15k more than them. you have waaaaay too much time on your hands today mate

Our page has increased dramatically too over the past 2 years, it regularly has a weekly footfall of over 200k hits. But the post about Jordan Burndred for 300k hits alone

Is that what equates to being a football supporter now, "Liking" a Facebook page? Jesus.

Is that what equates to being a football supporter now, "Liking" a Facebook page? Jesus. Facebook is great. I now have hundreds of friends. And they are real friends not the sort I used to have before I joined Facebook. You know the sort I mean - the sort of friends you actually met face to face from time to time - what a sad bunch we were in those pre Facebook days!

I'm not sure if the fanbase has increased but what is for sure is that more and more people are attending home games. It's a nightmare getting tickets now, me and the missus wanted 2 for Watford the other day and there isn't 2 together in the whole ground and it's weeks away. Fuck sitting apart, it now means I can't attend the game again, that's twice this season now.

We have grown but not as much as I thought it would, it's ideal time to increase the capacity of the ground. I think it will be done ready for next season.

Back in mid August I went to the ground to buy 7 tickets for the Watford game as I've got 6 friends from Austria coming over for the weekend and they wanted to watch a Stoke game at the Britannia.
Other than the front rows of block 19 there weren't many options forus all to be sitting together or on adjoining rows.
That was about 10 weeks before the game!

One way to look at this would the drop in support of other clubs in North Staffs. Are Vale's crowds dropping, are there less glory hunters wandering around Hanley in their shirts?

it can come down to little things sometimes: www.google.es/search?q=cameron+stoke+luton+usa&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=Pc8WVtSwO8moUdfeo4AFa lot of American news sources REALLY liked the USA! video of Cameron getting the winner vs Luton. Being around the news saturated airs of the top half of the premier league and being what we can be does a lot, without marketing coming into it. Since I started going in the mid 90s we've had a known Scandinavian following that preceeded Larus.. sometimes a club takes off. Id much prefer supporters of the kind the Scando's have been (based on posts here/speaking to people) than ever us hoping to be fashionable.

Can someone from oatcake let us know the growth of the forum in this past few years. Being from America with no people around to talk about the team (besides one Tottenham fan who never misses watching our games) I joined oatcake as soon as I learned of it.

If we want to expand in the Far East we need to change the badge to a dragon and have an all red kit. Apparently. Done Cardiff the world of good!
What lunacy makes a club think that that bollocks really works.

Smalltown thinking sadly
put in the extra seats first - drop the ticket prices realistically and incrementally for on the day seats and you will fill them
kids for a fiver - a quid even
they get the habit - tell their schoolfriends
etc etc etc
but that seems beyond people with influence to even fathom

Is there any indication that the fan base (home and/or overseas) is growing? In terms of home support it seems pretty static with the argument that we shouldn't expand as we have some empty seats each game. In terms of overseas support I have no idea. Perhaps shirt sales could give an indication but I don't know where to find that kind of info. It would be interesting if someone is able to provide some kind of growth trend analysis for the club over the past 5-8 years. For any area. I'm interested to see if we've actually grown in any way aside from financially. View AttachmentSimple really....get that 'Mr Lonely, saddo, billy no mates, statto, single for a VERY long time' character' knowlesy on the job !!!! He loves 'stats' ( only joking fella - that stuff you research is fascinating reading )

Another sell out for the Watford game over a week before the game, not sure what's stopping the club filling on the corner now to be fair?

I prefer our fan base to stay local What's wrong with both? If you want to he a big club you need a global fanbase.

Another sell out for the Watford game over a week before the game, not sure what's stopping the club filling on the corner now to be fair? Gut feeling say it will be done next summer. I've always applauded the club for not rushing into it like Wolves, Midflesborough and other clubs. But if the play keeps improving. We will sell out every home game. Especially if we can sell out likes of Watford so early. No brainer now. It is time.
