Get a taxi from the airport, will be about £45.00 if you pre book, try www.minicabit.com - if you split the taxi fare between the 3 of you, it will be cheaper than the train. Thank you very much. Do you also know the travelling time from Manchester to Britannia with the taxi? About 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic.

Book your taxi WELL in advance and give yourself a good hour+ to get from the airport to Stoke. Err very much on the side of caution. Enjoy your game. Gooooaaarrnn Stoke!

On boxing day, purely from general sale this is. Best mate is a shit fan figured it could be a decent laugh, reckon they'll sell out more or less straight away? There will be a fair few empty seats as season ticket holders are away, pissed or just decide that Sky in front of the fire (or in the local) has greater charms. They don't tend to make it on sale though. Had no trouble getting 8 tickets together (4+4) for last season's match. Go online at 00.01 AM

FUCK!!!!!!!!!! Me and 2 friends of mine booked already tickets from Austria. This will be my first time at Britannia Never expected, that Stoke will play at this time. Now we must change the flights, cause we fly at 26th from Austria to Manchester Does anybody now, how to get from Manchester to Britannia Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent most rapidly? Should we take a taxi on 26 th December or by train? Trains don't run on Boxing Day in England, so you don't have a lot of choice.

Is nothing sacred?
That's a rhetorical question. Of course nothing is sacred, not now that we've whored ourselves out to Sky and BT for a few pennies.

Home fixture on boxing day is always a good excuse to get out of family related activities ☺ would have preferred a later kick off though to enjoy a few pregame pints

Thank you for your offer but we are three peesons with luggage cause we stay 5 nights in Manchester. After arriving we must go ro the hotel at first..... I fly into Birmingham or Manchester from the States a few times a year. So I've made the trip many times. iI generally arrive in the morning, get breakfastand then meet people at the Brit. With three of you it's probably going to be cheaper to pick up a rental car than use trains and taxis. I mention Brum because getting in and out of the airport is much easier there than Manchester, which is a mare if you don't know where you're going - even then you get lost if you don't have a Satnav (GPS). You can find plenty of rental cars on-line. Book now and you should be able to get a good price.

Which pubs should we visit after the game? Any suggestions? Where do the Stokies celebrate? kustokie's point about a car rental makes sense. Anything you book make sure to book early. As kevkj says, the asian taxi lads might well be cheaper. The firm he mentions, Lucky Seven is 01782 333 333 if I rememember rightly. There are others. Stokies celebrate "everywhere we go-oh"!! There are more "lively" establishments but the plum porter in the White Star is definitely worth calling in for. Enjoy yourselves!

Bloody hate early kick offs. Especially Boxing Day games. The other years when we've had the late kick off I've loved it. Day on the ale watching the racing then stoke. Perfect!! 12-45 is just shit
