I'd laugh my tits off if his first signing in January was Altidore.
Sly move for Geoff?

Pretty outlandish but could do well.
Seen the Americans I follow on Twatter raving about his time in Norway but it is only Norway.
Going to be an interesting one that!

We should sign his son before he does! He'd do well alongside Glenn.

People rave about jurgen, but bob was far more successful, at least when the games actually mattered. But he did regularly pick Jonathan Bornstein...

Nigel Pearson would be ideal for their situation, and apparently he is in the running.

I think klinsmann is a decent coach, I don't always agree with his tactics or team selection but I didn't with Bradley either. Bradley was fired because we lost the gold cup final, and klinsmann loses in the semis but seems to be untouchable. I guess it comes down to pedigree, something klinsmann is going to have in spades whilst Bradley being put in charge of a premier league team that looks certain for the drop is going to be the best opportunity of his career.

I can see why though after the Gold Cup. 4th behind Jamaica and Panama on home soil is pretty bad. You say that but surely the Sunderland team has more talent than the American national team? I think it does. Maybe pedigree is the wrong word but I think he will find it tough as their defence is rotten.

He just seemed to do such a good job at Fulham and I liked his movement, like a poor man's Teddy Sherringham.

Bring a prem club is brilliant. Sometimes you need to know your place
If Sunderland concentrated on being a stable low end Orem club rather than doubling money they hadn't got on shit they wouldn't find themselves in this trouble every year.
The dans need to realise being a stable club is more important than just trying to beat Newcastle

Maybe pedigree is the wrong word but I think he will find it tough as their defence is rotten. i think Sunderland and the USA national team wouldn't have much between them, a guy like Yedlin can't get into the Sunderland team, but Fabian Johnson would be big upgrade on what they already have. You could go position by position and I think it would be pretty close. Regardless, what I'm referring to is how this will be the highest level he, Bradley, will probably get to coach. Whereas a guy like klinsmann has a resume that most managers would dream of, and yet he's not really done any better than Bradley. Being a world class player gets you better managerial jobs, that's what I meant by pedigree.

One heck of a coach. Don't know how he will do but if anyone can steady Sinkerland, he will.

Who the fuck is Bob Bradley? I think he's the USA national coach. Formerly USA national coach. Now LA Galaxy coach. Would be interesting to see how he does if he gets the nod. His son is a good player too and could do well at DM for Stoke. What do people think of Graham Zusi (Sporting KC) - could do well in the Prem?

He was the U.S. Coach before Bradley. After getting fired Bradley coached Egypt and then some team in Norway. I think Zusi missed the boat and is starting to decline. Besler would be my choice for a KC player that could make it in England.

He's a good coach but he's like fifth choice, and being a Yank he may not be taken seriously.

Bruce Arena is the Galaxy coach and he is well regarded also. I agree that Besler would likely do well in Europe. However, I am noticing less and less MLS players being linked with teams in Europe. The MLS is moving up in standard, but is and likely never will be up to the level of the Prem (at least in my life time). However, I suspect many of the top players enjoy being a big fish in a small pond, rather than the other way around. They are well paid, the schedule is less grueling - the fans love them and the press are much less critical (what's there not to like about this picture?). There was a good article on the BBC website a few weeks ago (sorry, I don't have the link) about English players who don't make the grade in England coming over to the US to play in college and then in the MLS. They get a free education and then make a good living in the MLS. They used Dom Dwyer as a good example. He played at a college in Texas and then at the University of South Florida (nice place). Never made it in England. Now he's a star at Sporting Kansas City - has a gorgeous wife too! Not a bad life.

I think he's the USA national coach. former coach. The guy who was fired so klinsmann could have the easiest job in international football. Bob Bradley is the current manager of the Norwegian football club Stabæk. He has performed miracles at the club and is absolutely adored by the fans. The club has had severe financial problems for years and Bradley has only had a shoestring budget at his disposal. Every expert predicted the club to be relegated at his first year in charge, but he led Stabæk to a comfortable mid-table finish and a semi-final in the cup. The club then had to sell/release most of the players and he had to assemble a new squad almost from scratch. Despite of this, Stabæk is currently numer two in the league and got to the semi-final in the cup as well. Bradley has made some very shrewd signings and is considered to be a very, very good coach by the players. It doesn't guarantee that he will be successful in Sunderland if he ends up there, but he has been absolutely magnificent during his time in Norway.
