From the current 25 & one from the past, doesn't have to be based on ability or any particular reason just your opinion. I wasn't around for 70's squad so Current squad - Ryan Shawcross Past - Ricardo Fuller

Current - Bojan: a magician who makes the game look so easy in doing things so few others can do Past - Mark Chamberlain: for all too brief a time the most exciting player in English football

Current squad: Glenn Whelan. Supported the guy when everyone else slated him. Love how many players were signed to replace him only for him to see them off.
Past: Ricardo Fuller was probably the most exciting player I have seen in a Stoke shirt (Bojan aside). A shout out for Peter Hoekstra or Sergei Shtaniuk. Loved them both as a young lad.

Showing my age but Clamp & Setters. Something else, you never knew what they were going to do, hard as nails, and surrounded by a team that were amazing. Nostalgia is a wonderful thing

Bojan - best talent we've had for many a long year Mathews - Stretching things slightly, I was taken to see him play a few times but I was too young for me to have much memory of it. One a legend the other a legend in the making

Actually, I've always liked Pieters. He has integrity and has been an increasingly influential member of the team. He always seems to give 100% and he comes across as an intelligent guy. Past player: Denis Smith. Apart from being Stoke through and through, his sister lived next door to us, which made him the closest I ever got to seeing a Stoke player in normal life while I was growing up. He was usually on crutches, though!

I can't pick from the current bunch....Pieters, Shawcross, Muni, Arnie and Diouf all are up there.......probably Muni.
Fuller previously. Taggart a close second.

Current: shaqiri, I want so desperately for him to look like a bargain at 12 million.
Past: delap, the reason I began waking up at 7 am on Saturdays. Oh how I miss getting almost as excited for a stoke throw as I do for penalty kick.

Current - Marko Arnautovic - full of talent, mercurial, mental as anything.
Past - Chambo - mesmerising when on his game, terrorised defenders, often 3 at a time.

To many to mention but players who got me off my seat include Sir Jimmy.Hudson,Beagrie Jimmy Robertson ,Chamberlain,Steino and Biggins ,Judas Sheron some notable short periods of brilliance from Carl Saunders, and surprisingly John Divine who was brilliant till injury, also Dave Watson was awesome as a rock defender.

I find this sort of question very difficult and the answer depends on what criteria you chose to "prefer to all others". In terms of who excites me most:
Present: Bojan
Past: Harry Burrows (my first)
