Not seen any comments on our Glen Johnson and have to say he has probably been the best addition to the squad this season. Yes he does get caught out every now and then but how refreshing to have a RB that can defend can take players on , has some good trickery in his locker and actually creates goals! Both of our last two were directly from his cross and pass. Really pleased with this guy!

So far he's been our best addition. Recovering his Pompey form

I always feel as though he needs to be braver when making a tackle, he is definitely better than what we have/had though.

Seems to hesitate when he cuts inside in the oppositions final third to smash one in the top corner.

Not seen any comments on our Glen Johnson That's because some sly fucker hid them away in the cryptically titled, Glen Johnson thread. The fella is one of our best signings this season in my eyes.

I was a bit disappointed in his first few games where I felt that when he got forward in support of the winger, his crosses were delayed too long on occasions. But in his last 2 or 3 games he seems to have more urgency with his crosses and diagonal balls and our play is benefiting as a result.
I wonder if we'll ever use him as a winger with a full back behind him to try to close out a game? I suppose one problem is that there is no really good defensive full back to play behind him - wish we'd signed Mica Richards - apart from his diving of course.

Good post.
Master stroke signing by MH. How often does the management of MH remind me of the Waddington years?

He's a cracking edition to the team as a few have said not the best defender but is a good footballer , calm under pressure and good going forward.

He has done very well, and for sure has been the best of the new signings up to now. I didn't expect to be saying that!

Easily the best of the summer signings.
Shay Given is probably next best so far mind...
