It really is mind boggling that a few posters on here - on the basis of what I really don't know, think they are in a better position to plan Ryan's rehabilitation than the clubs doctors, the physios, the surgeon, Mark Hughes, the coaching staff and Ryan himself.
Just wow.

I hope he takes his dysentry and typhoid jabs, don't want him back on the treatment table.

Far too soon this - we cannot rush this Di you think the medical staff are stupid ? They flew him out unnecessarily to the Far East pre-season, which was a pretty stupid thing to do. That doesn't mean they're always stupid, but I hope they aren't rushing Ryan back too quickly.

Just wow. DEMBA BA! How do we know the medical advice was wrong on Ba? The view was that his knee may give in at any time. He's been lucky since then but given that advice, and that we couldn't get his knee insured, and given it was to be the significant signing for us, they were cautious. I just don't think you can criticise the medical team on this - not unless you've seen the scans and have expert training and you are able to provide a different opinion of the evidence.

is this a friendly arranged against the Vale? or should I call it an unfriendly.
To be honest I would like to see us play our cross-town rivals in a friendly match every couple of seasons.
Prem is full of too many prawn sandwich eating London based clubs. I much prefer playing Midland rivals but theres only Villa and West Brom left these days.
Swansea consider us a rival, but with them being in a different country altogether I personally could give a toss what they think.
I want more games against: Forest, Derby, Brum, Port Vale, Wolves but we going to be waiting a long long time before they get back to our level again

Maybe I have too much faith in humanity but I honestly don't think that would happen. A similar thought to yours occurred to me when we played Brentford in the close season and Bojan was taking his first baby steps in his recovery and the Brentford lads were fine. Yes I know Brentford is not the Vale but really there is nothing to gain for someone doing that, much more to lose in fact if you are trying to build a career.

Ryan wouldn’t be playing if there was any chance of him being kicked all over the pitch. I’m sure someone at the Vale will have had a word with their players stressing the importance of not putting the club I’m a position that could lead to ongoing off field problems.

Both Mancs are less than 50 miles away {closer than Brum to me}, and cast your geographical net a little further and you've got the two Miserysiders. These days we're competitive with all of them on a matchday. I take your point about London, we do seem to struggle in the Capital.

Ive never considered them a derby kinda game for some reason. But true they are definitely close enough by Man City used to be a passionate game back in the day until the Arab Sheiks turned up. Man United, I suppose we get excited about playing but they couldnt give 2 shits about us Liverpool/Everton ive never considered as local rivals though. They talk funny up there

"All supporters intending to come to the game are reminded that only the only area of the ground that will be open will be the Lorne Street Stand."
Call me daft and it's only a friendly (guffaw) but with the high profile appearance of Shawcross, and the potential for some shit house Valey to go through him like a dose of salts, is this wise?

why are people so fuckin moronic that they still bring up Demba Ba everytime the medical staff are mentioned...however, i'm 100% sure that if it was explained to them that we were having to pay over 8mill on someone we couldn't get insurance for, whereas the team that did sign him got him for free so never had any gamble to take that they'd surely understand wouldn't they???? or would they simply ignore the fucking obviously stated facts that have been explained millions of times previously and carry on with their brain dead ramblings????
plenty of clubs wanted him when we did (it's when Chelsea initially started monitoring him). did they risk nearly 10mill on a player who'd failed 3 medicals with 3 different clubs and couldn't be insured??? did they fuck, they waited a couple of years until someone else had taken the gamble to see how his knees were first!
hindsight's a wonderful thing when you're a lazy fucker sitting in your armchair on pro-evo and it's not your money the club is spending isn't it???? dumb bastards
fucking boring, uneducated, idiotic bullshit on their part...over and over and over and over again!!!!

I was told Ba had some recreational drugs show up in his blood test and Pulis pulled the plug on the deal.
May have been bullshit may be truth.
