What did you make of his performance after coming on today? I was quite encouraged, anyone else agree he looked a bit more up for it. Granted made a few bad calls but. At least he wanted to have a shot.

I was disappointed, I don't think that either he or Van Ginkel made any impact at all.

Did you think he looked a bit quicker today or was that just me ? Perhaps he's getting fitter ?

Still looking for fouls that he would have got in his previous leagues but not over here. Once he's adjusted I think he will be rather useful.

Granted I wasn't there and watched it on the gogglebox, but the bloke gives me the hebegeebees whenever he gets the ball. Yes, he had a half decent shot, but at the moment for me the verdict is still out. He probably still needs time to fit in, but he gives the ball away far to cheaply. Plus, and this is only my opinion, he still appears to be a bit too petulant and gets wound up very easily.

I didn't mate, no.
Maybe he is getting fitter but I thought he offered us very little.
Early days yet, though.

Still really really struggling to come to terms with the physicality and lack of time on the ball. Mostly hopeless again today. But he's a good player, so I'm sure he'll figure out how to be a very solid Premier League performer by Christmas.

I thought he looked like a player trying to do to much. He is obviously trying impress Hughes but at times he was a bit brash in the tackle and went surging around like a bull in a china shop. The lads got quality no doubt though and will be a fantastic player given time

At least he wanted to have a shot. I've been a little critical of him in previous games but, bar a piece of poor play when in a great position, I thought he looked fairly sharp when he came on. Find it a little odd that people say he gives it away cheaply - the one positive there's been from him is his pass success rate (hovering over 90% ave. iirc?)

Still unsure. He was bounced off every ball, but drove forward late on. I don't know. Agree with Bayern's sentiment re a backup winger, ideally one in the Sako mould.

I think Ireland would have loved the space in that game today especially second half when we counter attacked

I felt like he was a bit lightweight and his decision making wasn't great.
I thought our changes were a bit negative and we sat back too early.
Still, played some good stuff and really dug in. Clean sheet as well, despite our terrible, terminal 'lack of leaders'.

Thought he was shocking just like last week. Nothing like his first couple of promising starts.
I thought all 3 subs were inferior to the players they replaced and none of them seemed to know where they were playing or had the strength to hold the ball.
It was the only slight disappointment to an excellent win.

An impact? What are you expecting, for them to run the show? They came on and did a job, namely ensuring we won a game of football. MvG was solid enough plus looked to get forward to support Walters and Affelay carried the ball well giving us time. At one point he beat 3 men from out wide and had a shot blocked. Talk about over expectation.

We were very good up until the subs were made, the bench is our weak point at the moment the first 11 looked so comfortable and should of wrapped the game up.But great win great atmosphere.

No surprise to me that we have turned things round without these 3, in spite of the promising start they made. They need a couple of months of gym work and steak for every meal.

I'm this close *make gesture with hand* to writing him off. I'm tempted merely so he comes good tbh! Because he's been a bit shit so far.

Tried to do a bit too much by himself today.
Probably desperate to make amends for the silly sending off.
Give him time, surely we must have learned by now not to write players off too soon...

Agreed, Afellay is defintiely getting sharper and Van Ginkel is also settling. Afellay is our best passer and I love how he is urgent on receiving possession. Both did their job today, reading comment son here you would think we lost
