Some of you may be aware from Sentinel/Facebook/Twitter coverage 17 year old Jordan suffered a suspected heart attack/cardiac arrest whilst on a family holiday over the weekend. He is currently on life support in a Turkish hospital with his family at his side. Jord is a season ticket holder who also plays for Leek Town U18s and is a qualified referee who has refereed a number of Stoke youth games. His family and friends have started a fundraising page so that his family can stay by his bedside in Turkey the link is below if you can donate then thank you if you can't then please leave some encouraging words of support for Jordan and his family during this difficult time. There is a fundraising match(over 30s v under 30s) at Knypersley Vics on Sunday at 2pm there will also be a raffle and food. I believe his friends have managed to get a signed Stoke and Vale shirt to auction off. There is also a blog that his uncle is updating as much as he can to keep people informed the link is also below: www.stokesentinel.co.uk/8203-Jordan-Burndred-stable-condition-fund/story-27904153-detail/story.htmlfundrazr.com/links/c/d132Cfprayforjord.wordpress.com/Admin any chance you can pin this for a few days ***Sadly Jordan lost his fight this morning as per the link below confolences to his family m.stokesentinel.co.uk/Brave-Jordan-Burndred-17-loses-fight-life-holiday/story-27937319-detail/story.html

Top post mate
He is also one of our Biddulph branch refs, a good guy and played all through lads n dads from under 7s.
Whole town has pulled together fantastically so far, £6k raised so far to support the family with costs/accommodation/getting other relatives out there as well as support from the football family (Leek Town and many other clubs from kids teams to others who dont even know him)
Hope he gets well soon and back to serving my chips in our local fish bar!
Gooaarrn Jord.

It wasnt one alas Foster - he had 3 on the same day :-(
1 in the pool, another in the ambulance and another at the hospital
His mum has posted that the docs are pleased with his progress this week and are lowering his sedation today which is a tense time for them I would imagine.
Jord is the 3rd young lad from Biddulph to suffer that I know of, one lad (Dave Moss) sadly passed away while fishing 18 months ago aged 15 - we have a large drive to support the CRY charity (Cardiac Risk in the Young) in town getting all our youngsters tested and monitored regularly from age 14. His mum Dawn has become a focal point and spends her time raising money for the charity alongside his former team mates and club.
My football lads are all 13 into 14 this season, we will be registered as soon as they are eligble - I cant imagine dealing with that on a pitch. We have around 4 defibrilators dotted around the town too, I've had to learn how to use one.

Over £7,000 raised now and that's just online. There are numerous other collections in shops around town yet to be counted up too. There's a charity football match being held at Knypersley Vics on Sunday as well. Get down if you can.
Lots of great prizes to be raffled off and auctioned, including tickets to various premier league matches and some signed gear too. Higginbotham has given a signed Stoke shirt and the Vale lads, led by Dicko, have donated a signed shirt and ball too, as well as loads of other great stuff.
The response really has been overwhelming. This is a City to be immensely proud of, full of generous and caring people.
Keep fighting Jord.

My father was born in Biddulph and I love walking around that area with the kinfolk when ever in the area. Good on everyone whose helped in some regard whether a Vale fan or Stoke fan, he's a local lad in tough times and it's refreshing to see such outpouring.

How the hell do you have a heart attack at 17 years of age? Just tragic. Hope he pulls through okay. Happens a lot with seemingly fit lads who are keen sportsman. was it Terry Yorath's son died during a kickabout in his back garden a few years ago. Lets hope the lad pulls through, got a lot of family and friends in Biddulph, pretty sure my folks will know the family.

Amazing turnout at Knype CC/Knype Vics this afternoon, it seemed most of Biddulph was there.
Phil Dowd turned up to referee the charity football, it was heaving, and there was plenty to do with stalls and bouncy castles etc.
Hope a shedload of money was raised, and that anything that can help can be done
Come on Jord.

There's another couple of fund raising events this week if anyone can make them. Wednesday night at longton rugby club there's a match on. Also bouncy castle, food, pony rides etc.
And Friday night at staffs uni another football match is being arranged.
The latest news isn't good at all regarding Jordan. His pulse is really weak now and his hands and feet are blue as of poor circulation. Every night is a huge battle for Jordan and his family. But they won't give up on him. Come on stokie were all behind you.

Great stuff.
Lets hope for better news from his mum overnight.
Never known our town pull together like this (as a lifelong resident!) - families and streets will fall out over a dropped sausage, relatives that dont speak for years over a spilled drink, but the togetherness and will for Jord to get better has been heartwarming.
Keep in there kid.

Hope the lad gets well soon. Absolute heartbreaking. On another note is there anything planned for the next home game in terms of a collection or summit. I know its not the clubs responsability but have the club got anything planned to help. After all he's one of us. Get well mate
