If our injury worries are fit I'd go with
Jack
Glen (but tell him to stay back) Wolli Wilson Eric
Whelo Afellay (I'd like to see him in a more central role)
Arni Bojan Super John
Diouf
I'm sure Shaq will come good but right now I'd bring him on when either Arno or Super john tire. He looks like a player who's not had much of a pre season.

Think, that the best sub for Bojan is Ireland. Probably Bojan still needs a few weeks to find his best form, so i wouldn´t relinquish Stevie

More chopping and changing.
Always the best players are the ones not selected.

Like Hughes I can't make my mind up but right now I'd go with this. I'm basing it on Shaq being out.
Butland
Glen Wolli Muni Eric
Whelan Afellay
Arni Bojan Walters
Diouf
Players in
Muni - because he wI'll distribute the ball better from the back. Compliments Wolli well like he did Ryan. Afellay - reads the game well and he naturally seems to drift inside. I've seen lots of positives in his last 2 games. Walters - gives us a goal threat and works hard which we need in abundance. Diouf - should be an automatic choice. Pacey, hardworking, good in the air and creates chances for himself.

Really not keen on seeing Affelay in CDM so:
Butland
Johnson Wollscheid Muniesa Pieters
Whelan Van Ginkel
Arnie Bojan Affelay
Diouf

Don't understand why people think Afellay can play CDM, he's never played there!!!
Butland
Johnson Cameron Wolly Eric
Whelan MVG
Shaq Bojan Arnie
Walters

Id take out Shaq and replace him with Walters then bring Diouf in as striker. Replace Adam with Van Ginkel. The rest should be as it was against Bournemouth.
Unless Arnie gets injured in which case we'd probably have no choice but to use Affelay there I would use Affelay or Ireland to replace Bojan when he tires.

If Arnie and Shaq were out, expect to see Diouf on the wing purely for pace! Otherwise it would be Walters and Afellay!!!!

I think we need to be careful away from home, we have too many players who dont do their shift defensively and somehow we have to defend well enough to keep Gestede out who looks a real handful
Butland
Johnson Wolly Wilson Pieters
Whelan Cameron
Arni Bojan Afellay
Walters
Towards the end of the game Diouf and Shaq could come on if needed

Doubt we will get a clean sheet so lets go for it.

I like your team, mate! I agree with Harry B though - Van Ginkel will feature somewhere (on the bench I think).
And, Wollscheid to start is a no brainer. Of course he should start - he is a very good player! I'm sure he is learning and adapting every day in this still, for him, new league.

Butland Johnson Cameron Wolly Pieters Adam Whelan MVG Walters Arnie Diouf Someone suggested a similar formation on another thread. I like the 4-3-2-1, but I'd put Sidders in with Whelan, letting MVG be more box to box. Bloody hell! No Bojan?

A little quiz for all you footy fans:
Which two teams have the fewest defensive errors, over the last six matches? That is, errors leading to a chance or a goal?

Wolly 1 week ago it was "fifth choice" and "shit" and "I don't know why we bought him" 2 games later and apparently he is franz beckenbaur to some No wonder footballers steer clear of forums.

The 4-3-3 usually gets a mention in order to accommodate Adam. To free him from defensive duties, allowing him to concentrate on driving us forward. But there also seems to be a consensus that Charlie shouldn't be a starter in away games. Not so sure about that. Less about home vs away and more about his inability to do a full 90mins. I'd like to see how fitness/injuries pan out during this week before committing to the starting line up. As it stands Shaq/Diouf/Bojan don't look capable of a full game which sets up the conundrum of whether to start with them or bring them on second half.
Butland, Johnson, Pieters, Whelan, Walters should be nailed on. I'd like to see Wollscheid and Wilson as the cbs... ah feck it, if we need to make changes then let's do eeet, hung for a sheep as a lamb:
Butland Johnson Wollscheid Wilson Pieters Whelan VanGinkel Adam Walters Joselu Arnautovic
Do them with guile over pace. Hoping for good news from the treatment room.
