Anyone know how Noz is playing at Seville. Just looked at the La Liga table but could'nt see Sevilla until you got to the bottom team? Few of us commented on Satdee how much we missed him but did we? When he was good he was great but when he was poor he was s..t

Yep, the best midfielder in the world currently plays for the team bottom in La Liga, he is that good he was sent off in his first match. He did score a goal in a game after (obviously non of our players score goals).

How many good games did he have in his first two seasons , I think to say he's the best midfielder to play in a Stoke shirt is a bit OTT , once van ginkel has settled in nzonzi will be long forgotten

I saw Alan Hudson and N'Zonzi was the best since then by a country mile, his departure has left a gaping hole, he almost single handedly defined the transition from Pulis to Hughes.

Absolutely loved N'Zonzi while he was here. Now he's gone I feel comfortable in exaggerating his deficiancies. Slowed midfield down allowing the opposition time to congregate. Limiting the space for our attack. Too busy recycling and not creating. Never had enough impact in either box. Why no headed goals off corners?
He's out of my life. Here's to Van Ginkel and a quicker transition from defence to attack. VG will score more in his first season with us than Z'Zonz managed in three.

Undoubted ability...but he was petulant, arrogant and a red card waiting to happen on many occasions.......
And..................................................he DIDN'T WANT TO BE HERE !!!!!!

OK N'Zonzi was our best player last season. He was very good at what he did, holding the ball, safe passing, covered lots of ground. But
He wasn't our player of the season in 2013/14, he only started getting the odd goal towards the end of last season, loads of people on Oatcake used to bitch about his negative play, backwards passing, transfer requests, and lack of enterprise before last season. I used to post on here defending him. But
Stoke's bad start to this season seems to be elevating N'Zonzi's reputation to legendary status as one of Stoke's all time greats.
Let's get real, he was very good but he wasn't great; no top clubs would touch him.

This is rewriting history in the best traditions of Pravda. I bet the North Koreans are head hunting you now. Nzonzi was good. He had his strengths but by god did he have his deficiencies. In his first two seasons he was a country mile behind Bego and Ryan. I think anyone suggesting Nzonzi as player of the season - at the time - would have been laughed at. In his last season he only won some of the player of the season awards as Bego's form had gone, and Ryan and Bojan's injuries. Even the Oatcake had him in third place for player of the season last year. You may rate Nzonzi - I do - but this is just absolute tosh.

Under Hughes he's been our best player (so that's two seasons). He allowed us to transition from TP to Hughes so well. And in that last season for TP he still showed how calm and what a good footballer he was. Seriously underrated player that we're clearly missing massively. Bojan played a third of the season and for half of that was toss. Shawcross missed 6? league games..... He was obviously player of the season last year.

Nope. Ryan is. Comfortably. We are missing Nzonzi. But he's fucking gone. He's not ours. Stop fucking pining for him. Really STOP. Pretty much any replacement would meant that we would have to change the way we play. That's the problem, we're adjusting to having to play a different way. But to continue to dwell on Nzonzi and make out that he was some kind of superstar is really not helping. And not true. Yes Ryan missed 6 games, and was struggling with the injury for a large chunk of the others. You know this - but you're happy to twist the facts to make Nzonzi look better. Of course he was player of the season last year. While even the Oatcake had him in third. Personally I had him as my player of the season, but that was because the other contenders either were poor (Bego) or had injury effected seasons (Ryan and Bojan).

I just want someone who can replicate what he did, we haven't got that person and we're third bottom for it. It is true though isn't it? He dictated our play, you know the two season we finished 9th in the Premier League, our best since the 70's. He was the heartbeat of that....... Not twisting anything you made out that he was out for a long time and affected him winning POTY awards, he wasn't and it didn't.

Top clubs like that yeah? So how many "top clubs" from the Premiership came in for him? You know, the clubs who see him close up regularly? He was an absolute bargain at £7 million we're told, so why didn't Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City come in for him? Man City even scouted him (according to you) and decided he wasn't even worth the type of small change that they'd lose down the back of the sofa. Even the likes of Spurs and Liverpool didn't see this superstar to be worthy as splashing out £7 million for. That clearly says he was a decent mid-table Premiership midfielder. Not some world beater like you're making out. But really that's we all saw.
