It looks like an attempt to inject some much needed optimism thread to me, and for the record I think shaq will be awesome. It was a genuine question, and I have been heartened by the replies.

It depends if he gels with Bojan, could be the new Hudson / Greenhoff partnership all over again. if not, well, we'll have to see.

The problem with stoke is we are not getting the ball forward quick enough. We've had the slowest build-up play in the league so far with some of the highest amounts of passing. We've been letting teams get behind the ball and then allowing them to set up their 11 man defence. We also don't have the runs from the front 4 and constant off the ball movement to move their backline and midfield around to open up the channels to pass through balls into ala Barca. If anything we've been our own worst enemy by conceding the midfield at times by playing to forward in the middle and the wingers not dropping back allowing other teams free reign on the counter with only Glenn to cover the backline.
Shaqiri needs link up play to shine, sure he'll go on a run and can show flash in a one on one but he really plays off of the one-two passes from the CM to his wing. He hasn't been able to link with Bojan, and Ireland much going forward on the counter. He'll get going once we get healthy and firing on all cylinders. We have more pressing concerns in the midfield which isn't covering the defence at the moment.

Hope so, im dieing for this lad to come good, although for the Swiss vs England and our last few games i've not seen much from him. That free kick on his debut proper got me panties wet though.

What are your thoughts about his signing, first few games, ideal position etc? Would you have been happier with Traore or do you think Shaq will tear this league up? Another subtle negative thread? No. People leave those to gods and rolls.

Yes, of course. He's a brilliant player and I can't wait to see a fit Bojan alongside him. Stoke will burst into decent form and go haring up the league table once we get Ryan back in.

Yes Definatly , he has all the Attributes to become a stoke legend . Me personally like bojan last season thinks he needs some time in the gym , he is short a bit stocky and for a player as stocky as him he shouldn't be getting bullied off the ball by every defender he comes up against like he has been doing , maybe Hughes should take him out of the limelight for a couple of weeks with the odd cameo as sub for the last 20 mins and then introduce him when we get bk to winning ways . Me personally on Saturday would start with crouch up top with duif and arnie on the wings and the little spanierd behind crouch.
