We're that good and the Americans that bad that we have to play against sides two years older for it to be a match*. Anyone watching? A very changed U-21 side for us from what we're used to seeing. *Agenda innit!

on the evidence of the last two World Cups, there's little difference between the two nations at International level. If I was a betting man, I would put money on the Yanks winning a World Cup before we win another one. They are about 10-15 years away from becoming a major footballing power if the current growth of the game continues.

First one in the bag......
Not on this evidence (so far). England have actually started really well.

I know their clubs have U23 development sides not U21.

Being the oracle of footballing knowledge that he is, I would have expected Bayern to know that.

Ha, your ignorance was found out so you claim you were fishing - a likely story!

I love American soccer, that's the fucking irony of it all. Why did you think I put the star and the wink....I know the reason (and it's what I always do when I'm clearly taking the piss), a lad I went school with played college soccer in America he's now a professional goalie in Portugal, he's on loan somewhere from Belenenses. But clearly it's an agenda and ignorance. I despair.

America have got some good forwards that are causing Callum Chambers problems when they get going. Tying his boot laces causes Chambers problems I'd have thought.

I didn't want to mention that for fear of trying to belittle the American forwards. Who genuinely do look good, very lively and crisp passing. England look good going forward but suspect at the back.

Redmond's a class above, why we never signed him when we signed Butland I do not know.

1-0 England. A mistake from the American right back who slips (irony at its finest) lets Watmore in who then passes it across the face of goal for James Wilson to score. EDIT- EDIT-you can't see the slip but you can see the beautiful ball that enforced the error, it's beautiful. And more irony, the American slipped is #20.

Just got back from the game now, a decent enough display from England I thought. There was a number of sloppy passes by England particularly in the first half but they always looked in control and managed to carve out 5 or 6 decent opportunities in the game. The lad up front Cauley Woodrow is nowhere near good enough unfortunately though, he's a willing runner but his first touch is awful and he should've buried that chance in the first half. Watmore's pace made a big difference in the second half, he looks a promising prospect.
